God awful spot to take a tech, Jeff.
He didn't even do anything. Must have said the refs wife was ugly under his breath. That's about all I can figure.

Somehow we're still tied.

Don't want to jinx the rest of the game, but the defensive intensity and focus to detail has so much better than it's been recently. Love what Elliott is providing when it comes to rebounding, and AJB is getting his hands in all the passing lanes. Keep it up boys!

This is a really beautiful game. Basketball is fun to watch when both teams are in rhythm like this.

A lot of time left, but you’re right we haven’t seen this defensive intensity in a long time.

Getting trounced on the rebounding side and they’re tied up. It helps not to be jacking up 3’s left and right.

On the technical, he probably wanted an and one. Obviously, the shooter was still on the ground when he took the shot.

God, we have so many really ugly possessions.

That wet concrete color just isn’t good for uniforms.

Pav got fouled. Period the end. That's an obvious one that got doinked.

Well, that was interesting! I guess none of us expected that. Way to gut it out. Must admit I think we’re a bit more athletic without the two slow afoot big guys. We just couldn’t rebound against them with the smaller guys.

This may be the only team in the league that we could have beaten tonight. We don’t have a chance against someone with skilled bigs. It will be enjoyable to watch our young kids develop through the rest of the season however.

I'm torn between saying that was the ugliest basketball game I've ever seen played

And applauding Jeff for an amazing coaching job and the players for never quitting

A win is a win, but you're not winning many more if that play continues.

We play hard, we just don't play well.

Some more contribution from Evans next game should help as well. James/Sheldon going 0-6 from 3 doesn't help.

Thought this was best effort intensively both ends of the court of the year. Wasn’t always pretty but when is any game against Kent pretty? Does this game forever put to rest the Vic/Wiz comparisons. Gritty win and it’s looking like that’s going to be the format going forward.

I disagree with the last two lines. The MAC is really bad. Ohio just defeated the 2nd highest ranked KenPom team in the conference while missing two starters and forcing Searls to play big-time minutes. It's never pretty against Kent but they'll look better against the rest of the league.

They shut down the Flashes offense despite getting out-rebounded and found a way to win despite struggling offensively. This roster just flipped overnight with their injuries. They need players to adjust to their new roles. It's very encouraging they found a way to win right off the bat. Wit the way the rest of the league looks, they should still remain competitive in conference play.

If Clayton comes back later in the season, they'll still have a chance in Cleveland.

Vic has moves Wiz can only dream about. Obviously, he isn’t the best Center in the league, but he’s much better than we had last year off the bench.

Pav and Reef cannot be on the bench at the same time. The offense is dreadful without one of them.

On the contrary, that was beautiful. Down two starters vs a top mac team? Signed. Sealed. Delivered. Baby I’m yours.

I was at the Purdue game and also watched Austin Carr in person. I was from the Dayton area and got to see the game in the UD arena. I don't think I missed a home basketball game in my 6 years. Got to know Love since we were both engineers.

I was from Kettering. My Dad's company did a lot of the work as the UD Arena was built and had season tickets for decades. I was at the game we (Ohio) lost 112-82. The game that was more awesome was Western Kentucky - Jacksonville. Jim McDaniel versus Artis Gilmore. I think Jacksonville made it to the NCAA final. Needless to say, we'll never see that kind of basketball again thanks to greed/NIL.

Scott Love was in Athens when I was.

Gritty win. If Clayton is only out temporarily, it may force some of our other guys to step up.

Sheldon's 3s will start to fall.

Not pretty, but really good to see the team playing so hard.

Man, Pav's pressers are tough to watch though. I hope the young man can take advantage of time at Ohio to help prepare himself for career life.
