Waiting until Game 26 to play the arch-rival approaches the high water mark of MAC obtusity. Playing the second game against the arch-rival after students have left for break is the high water mark of MAC obtusity.

It's awful. Just awful.

Didn't Miami give us a discount on tickets last year?

The way I see it we got Akron at home on a Saturday instead of Miami. That's a trade I'll take these days.

Everybody seems to be writing off the Redhawks, but most of their scores have been respectable. Ohio will have to fight hard to win Tuesday.

The games with Miami aren't the same since Charlie passed away. Pretty much just another game nowadays.

Sure, that's part of it. But it sucks mostly because Miami sucks. If Miami has a team again someday, the rivalry will return.

Was just reading a thread on the Miami board about Brad Bates leaving as BC AD to join a Coaching Search Consulting company and someone there posted this about his last 6 basketball and football coaching hires:

Miami:
Shane Montgomery: 17-31
Mike Haywood: 10-15
Don Treadwell: 8-21
John Cooper: 48-79

BC:
Steve Addazzio: 24-27
Jim Christian: 29-62

Agree - will have to fight hard - to not fall asleep - in that abandoned dungeon of an arena......

Heading down with a couple of Jaaron's HS coaches. Aiming for a quick stop at Skipper's pre-game.

Saw something on Twitter the other day that said BC has only won something like 6 total ACC games in football, men's basketball and women's basketball the last two or three years? That's unbelievable ineptitude!

I saw this on the Miami board. Zach McCormick (a 2014 SG Ohio offered, who chose Miami) looks like he might be medically disqualified. Feel bad for the young man...

Cincinnati.com wrote:expand_more
McCormick’s playing days most likely are over, the victim of a condition called Par’s Defect on his right side and herniated disks on his left side. He played in the RedHawks’ first four games this season before sustaining a back injury in game five against Northern Kentucky Nov. 20 that will cost him the rest of the season. Medical officials tell him there’s a chance he could play next season, but with the caveat that one wrong collision could cost him the use of his left leg.

But they offer the Boston TV market!

Maybe he will be assigned to this firm's hockey department?

The Cats definitely need to come charging off the tip and bury them early. Playing a team with nothing to lose late in the season can be a tall task on the road if that team has any pride.

I remember a time where the Cats would usually split the season matchup and road wins in Mullet were more rare.

We'd hate to have to "Siberia" a pregame thread! : ) So please can the political references before it mushrooms.

Based on the coach's comments and stat lines, this game could well boil down to how well Ohio handles the pressing and trapping Miami defense. We've actually been a little shaky against that vs Eastern and BGSU. I think if we limit the turnovers, it's likely we will get open looks from three and layup opportunities for Gavin, Jason and Mike.

Sorry - I wasn't thinking of it from that angle. I was thinking of how funny the hair is. And I agree, I don't want another "Siberia" game thread.

If we get into the 70s we should win. Fiami has scored 70+ just seven times in MAC play and they're 2-9 when their opponent scores 70+.
