If we beat Miami twice we are pretty much guaranteed a bye. We should get the 2 or 3 with Buffalo being our semi-final opponent. Sounds a lot like last year.

We may end up hitting last years win total (23) by the time this season is finished too. This is not bad with TC going down. I'm looking at the numbers and with Buffalo and Ohio both 9-5 plus 2x to drop the hammer on Miami the 2 seed will go to the winner of the Ohio/Buffalo game even if we drop to Kent. Buffalo has to play both Kent and Akron yet not an easy task so that cancels out a hypothetical loss to Kent for us. If you haven't already its time to start thinking tickets for Cleveland. Akron is only 3-2 this month looking beatable.

Was just running some possibilities and if Akron and we beat Buffalo (both road games for them) there is a good chance that the Beefs end up as the #4 seed with Ball State coming in at #3. That would mean that both Buffalo and Akron would be on the other side of the bracket from us.

Edit: Akron is actual at Buffalo. My bad.

most ideal situation would be buffalo falling to the #4 seed and CMU as the #5 seed.

that way you avoid akron, buffalo and cmu until the final at worst

Wow, that's really cool..Agreed we are in good shape for a 2 or 3 seed and would be nice to see Buffalo as a 4.

I agree - it makes you feel better about things after beating BG Saturday. Big night of MACtion tonight will reveal more on seeding for Cleveland.

The only way we cannot get a bye now is to lose all three remaining games and lose out on tiebreakers.

Can someone smarter than me give scenarios in which we can clinch the 2 or 3 seed? To me, that's the goal. Keep Akron on the other side of the bracket.

In a perfect world...we are the the 2-3 and Buffalo drops to 4. That would be something. Would rather face Kent in Semis.

Beat Kent and Akron beats the Bulls we clinch 2 or 3....although there are many other ways.

Akron and BGSU tied 51-51 under eight left, if Zips lose this game the door swings wide open for the Bobcats to snag the 1 seed. Akron must play at UB and at Kent State. Ohio win its final three they could steal the 1 seed.

Big Dog blocking foul with 2.4 seconds left. BG hits two FTs to win 66-65. Falcons break 17-game losing streak to Akron.

Don't look now, but we are only two back with three to play.

If Akron loses at Buffalo and at Kent State and we win out we are MAC Champs and #1 seed. Yes, it's a long shot, but at the very least Akron isn't playing their best ball right now. Should make for an interesting MAC tourny.

Zippy falls at BGSU.....The presumptive MAC champion could be in real danger of not getting that 1# seed.

So...this means no At-Large for Zippy Nation? #InsertSarcasm
Somebody other than Akron must win MAC Tourney. The Zips are going to lose by 30 again in 1st round of NCAA if they make it.

Four wins in a row, five of the last six and six of the last eight. The only losses were that bullspit thing that happened up in Kalamazoo which we won't speak of and Marcus Keene dropping 40.

The offense has picked up since the loss to Akron, scoring at least 78 points in every game since, including five games over 85 points.

And I'm just guessing because the MAC hasn't updated the stats to include last night's game, but Ohio's FT percentage has gone up recently. Dead last at one point, after the BG game they were up to 8th.

Things. Are. Picking. Up. Steam.

Based on what I'm seeing messing with the simulator, one Ohio win in the last three, coupled by one Ball State loss secures the top-4 bye.

Beating UB, and one Balls loss secures the #2 seed according to the simulator. And that's even if Ohio loses to Kent and Miami.

Win out, combined with two Zippy losses out of three, and it shows Ohio as the #1 seed.
