[QUOTE=cbus cat fan] I Wish I Was at Lucky's; no doubt about it, this Bobcat team has more weapons than any other in the tournament. The problem is they have to all be firing at the same time. We can't afford any sputtering halves. I still believe this team could go two ways; lose to Toledo or catch fire and win it all. For some reason, I can't see us losing in the semis or finals once we get the pistons firing.
"I'd modify that based on my own opinion. This Bobcat team has *as many* weapons as any other in the tournament. I think what separates Ohio from some teams is OUr #2, and the number of very capable perimeter shooters around him.

Zippy is 15-3 for a reason. They have depth, and two PGs that can get it done. And they have two bigs that are match-up challenges together on their best nights. I still maintain in general that as Cheatham goes, so go the Zips because he's a difficult guy to guard for many teams when he's hitting outside shots.

Beating Toledo, to me, is still about limiting Taylor's affect on the game, and keeping Jason Carter out of foul trouble."

OU Country, still think we have more weapons than anyone in the conference. Unfortunately, we have sputtered at times, but when we are firing on all cylinders, I still think we have more weapons than anyone. Think about it this way, as bad as we have played at times we have still been in games. If other teams had played that poorly with their talent, they would have been blown out.

Editors Note: Not sure what happened to OU Country's quote, seems to have lost the quote caption, but I think you get the point.

I don't know if we necessarily have more weapons than them, we can just hurt you in more different ways than they can hurt someone. Their game revolves around Big Dog getting the ball and either scoring or passing out to open shooters.

Jaaron can get into the lane better than their guards and we have better shooters for him to kick to. Jason is coming along in the post and he's a good passer, but not quite drawing the attention that Big Dog does.

But as OUCountry has pointed out, Cheatham makes them go. We don't have a guy who can match up with him physically. Gavin did a great job getting in his head when they were in the Convo, but he never really posted up which he probably could have outmuscled Gavin down low.

Back on topic with Toledo though, I think backside help on D has kind of got to cheat off their man a little bit and get a couple hands down low when Taylor puts it on the deck. Get Mike, Jordy, Gavin, Rodney and Jaaron in there with quick hands before Taylor has a chance to get momentum going right at Jason. I think if you do a straight double team Toledo's other skilled offensive players will kill us.

And if we do double team Taylor, the defensive rotations have to be lightning quick. Can't let them slip into easy buckets because someone wasn't paying attention.

Offensively, play our game and get good shots. Gotta make the easy ones in this game. Especially those wide open kick out threes.

Listened to Keith Dambrot on ESPN Cleveland this morning. He mentioned something that I hadn't thought of. With his big guys potentially playing three straight games, he wondered how they'd be able to keep the tank full vs. a smaller lineup by game 3...

and that reason is you're counting one of their losses as a win, Zips finished 14-4. Half of Akron's conference games were decided by 5pts or less. Zips were 6-3 in those games. By comparison, Ohio was 2-5 in games decided by 5pts or less.

Sounds like Coach Dambrot is already getting nervous about players, especially big men running out of gas. Let's help drain their tanks on Saturday night as we wear them down to a MAC victory! We certainly have experienced our share of sputtering halves. However, I still believe we have more weapons than any MAC team. The key is getting our team to fire on all cylinders. We accomplish that goal and we win, it's as simple as that!

I think I'm rooting for all the underdogs . . . except in the OHIO-UT game . . . in this round.

I guess we'll agree to disagree. It doesn't matter much - we're both happy as heck if Ohio wins three in a row!

We don't have to be great to beat Toledo, just solid. Toledo is a contender to win it all, I respect them, etc, but like everyone else, they are beatable.

Jeff McKinney trash talk
"They are beatable" is literally the most offensive thing he has ever said about any team ever. Baby steps.

Worst fears being realized on the offensive end, all kinds of impatient low-percentage-unnecessary shots. 1 of 13 from 3, and we can't just say "well they aren't falling" because they're mostly terrible looks early in the shot clock. Carter & Block have shot 5 already. NO. STOP IT. Saul needs to orchestrate a serious adjustment.

Said it before and I will say it again, we have the most weapons of any team in the MAC. If you had a group of college or NBA coaches and you had all the MAC teams playing in non-discript practice jerseys, there's no doubt in my mind that they would say we have the most weapons. Tonight's game was evidence of it, any other team that would have played that poorly in the first half would have been drubbed by 20+.

I hope to God Kenny can pick up where he left off and Jaaron can avoid the turnovers. This coupled with Jason's phenomenal play and Mike's increasing minutes, and the sky is the limit where we could end up later this month.
