The MAC should look for a Top 10 NCAA Tournament seed, annually. You're whistling through the grave yard with a 12 or 13 seed, and hoping for a NCAA upset. Yes, it happens, but not often.

Prepare yourself early, to win late.

Interestingly, 10 and 11 seeds basically win at exactly the same rate (38%), and 12 seeds win 34% of the time. But 13, there's a sharp drop off (21%).

9 seeds are the only "underdog" that win more than they lose.

I played in the NIL Golf Scramble at Little Mountain today and Coach Boals said we just finalized a deal to play at Memphis in the last few days. He also said there is one more game to get done still.

By the way, a really fun event but it was not well attended. Every player on the team and coaching staff was there and interacting with the players. Lots of little games along the way with challenges against the players (cornhole, spin a ball on your finger longer, jump shots, closer than Coach Boals to the pin, out drive Coach Ness). It sounded like this is something they may do more of so if any golfers out there are interested next time around I highly recommend it.

Love the add of Memphis. That puts as at 9 known games so far for non-conference. James Madison, Davidson, Memphis, and a chance to play Bradley/USF/Princeton in Myrtle. Pretty solid so far.

Guessing two buy games at home and another solid road/neutral game.

Edit -- I'll add Austin Peay as a strong home game. Finished season 9-1 before losing in ASUN finals to Stetson by 3. Return Sai Witt. Who didn't see a lot of action against us, but averaged 22ppg during that run for AP.

Outstanding report. All money raised goes to NIL. I have a feeling they will rotate it each year. Columbus I think they will get a bigger draw. Good news concerning Memphis.

As you say, that's 9. Since we are in the Myrtle Beach Invitational, I think that means we can play 13, right? Do we know if the Memphis game is a payout game ot the front end of a home and home?

Illinois State went 15-17 a season ago. First glance — best players returning are Malachi Poindexter and Jonny Kinziger who both averaged 9ppg. Added NDSU transfer Boden Skunberg (what a name) who put up 14ppg last season.

I didn’t realize we got 13 games. Yea, ideally the remaining 3 consist of a new H/H with another MM (with us getting home this season) and road power conference game. The non-d1 game seems inevitable. Which I think we could all live with based on how the schedule continues to shake out.

I believe I-State coach Ryan Pedon & Boals were assistants together at OSU?
They just missed each other. Boals left for Stony prior to Pedon landing at OSU. He did however, coach under Groce and Illinois and Holtmann at Butler. Basically, same coaching tree.

We have a chance to jump out to a quick 5-1 start. Not a bad structure to the conference schedule for OHIO.

I did get a chuckle when it said non-con schedule won't be released for "several" more weeks. At this rate, we are looking at October 1st. It's a tradition unlike any other.
