Thank you for your advice. We can't go through life ganging up on people because they don't agree with us. We are all fans. All of this back and forth is not neccessary. I don't know you personally and you don't know me, so we are in no position to say who needs a break or a self examination. I understand that my opinion differs from a lot of people here. I want to be united with the group, but when the group says things like college athletes don't want to go pro just to counter me and I went to school with people who worked their tail off to go pro. I have a uncle who coaches in Jordan, he gets players that just can't hang them up. I am friends with high school and college coaches. I helped our former coach Larry Hunter try to get Theo Dixon and Jonathan Burge here. It is easy for me to find sources to combat some of these statements because I have experience. People make statements to try to make me look stupid and then claim to be authorities. They do all of this because I say our expectations are low or we can get better. I am not saying anything irrational. What am I supposed to do. Am I supposed to accept a lie. I guess I could ignore it. I have a question. Why can't we just be real? People disagree all the time, why can't we make our points and than disagree peacably. The whole argument between me and Billy the Cat started on a football thread, where I said that Basham would be more marketable if he could play OLB, two posters said it was impossible including Billy the Cat, another poster jumped in on my side and named about 20 DE's who had successfully made the transition and then Billy the Cat pm'd me and told me the story about the agent. A week later, I am watching the combine and Basham looks great performing linebacker drills and I said to myself he did all this to prove a point (people's pride will not allow them to be wrong). So I brought it up and he made some personal insults, some nasty ones at that, I asked for peace twice (turning the other cheek) and he followed every new post with an insult. I then said to myself, I won't retaliate in the same manner with nasty insults instead I will expose him everytime he calls me a name. See the names he calls me are not true, but me exposing his lies is the truth. By this, I am taking the higher road. I can handle it, he will stop with the names because he knows where he stands, but don't join in, I am not against you, I am not against Billy the Cat either. I am a former Ohio State fan that came to Ohio as a student in 96 and met some of the players and I became an Ohio Fan. [/QUOTE]I really shouldn't, but your responses keep leading to questions. I wonder how many of those friends who are coaches know who you are on this forum?? Do you imagine they'd find some of your commentary as something they'd want around their players? Why can't you grasp what "peace" and "turning the other cheek" look like in this forum? I'd say that it means taking your own advice from above, and being quiet on a thread. Am I wrong?
And why are we still talking about Football and Tarrel Basham in the basketball forum? And what does Ohio State have to do with anything in this thread?
Again:
