What if the last scholarship holder is already here? What if Wadly stays? Can anyone point me to the coaches or Arkley ever suggesting that Wadly is leaving, or was that rumor born here. I've heard directly from our coaches that the intent all along was for him to redshirt, but not necessarily for the purposes of letting him transfer. I know he has his health issues, but Crohn's is manageable with a disciplined diet. If healthy, a 6'10'' athletic senior will have a role on next year's team.
This is the only mention of it I could find. It does look like more speculation than actual fact.

https://twitter.com/JasonAmessenger/status/79496653526577...

It was talked about in this thread, then it snowballed form there.

http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/topic.asp?FromPa...

I think most people took it as fact once we signed three players yet were only graduating two.
Thanks for doing the homework on this. I guess I thought it came from Saul. If he's able to be healthy for a whole season, I think Wadley would be great to have here.

Haha, that's funny considering the recent thread i read on the ball state board listing all the Indiana kids in the tourney that Whit obviously "missed" on.....including the 4 playing at Vermont That poster assumes we can get anyone here to pass up tcu, Ohio, Duke or a better fit to stay home
Cut and paste my friend. I wanna see the list. We need someone just like you for an Ohio list of kids too.

Hate to hear about anyone leaving, glad he will graduate. I wish him well.

I cant fathom Tone will be approved but that would make my year if he did. I hate to see anyone see their final college games from the sideline injured.

allen, I have a very sarcastic sense of humor. Lots of folks don't understand it, and you appear to be one of them. What I posted in this thread doesn't mean I don't want Zaire to transfer here for football. I think it would be great. And, I think it's possible. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a done deal by any measure.

Here's an article on the Ohio players in the NCAA tournament. I thought this was interesting to post here, not that we could've recruited all these players or any of them but found it interesting to see where everyone goes to school.

Graduate transfers are allowed multiple years. Jordan Chatman graduated from BYU and went to BC this past season. He has two more years of eligibility left. He had college credits in HS, redshirted his freshman year, did a two year mission, and played one season at BYU then graduated, thus leaving him 3 seasons of eligibility after transferring. Unusual, but permissible.

What would be the policy if he wanted to go to another school? If he's already graduated once, could he just move on again without penalty?

Are those actual schools? I have to say, thank god I went to a school that actually is acknowledged. I have heard of Carmel before though.
I am not sure what you are asking, Where did you go to school that we would recognize? Wonder how many readers are sitting here trying to figure out what "thank god I went to a school that actually is acknowledged" means? McBin has the advantage of being from Middletown, Swank from Akron along with SBH but there are just as many from Ft Loramie,Botkins, Kenston or Anna that you may discount because you have not heard of them. You look a bit foolish IMHO not knowing that those schools you are putting beneath your ACKNOWLEDGED school are actually pretty well established schools and sytems that have turned out some exceptional academic and athletic talents.

The schools listed there are pretty well established. There are no Trimbles, Carrol Bloom Carrols, St Henrys, Tuscawrarwas or Tippecanoes on there.

Ben Davis/SouthPort/Jeffersonville/Pendleton/Warren Central/Pike/Arsenal Tech/Homestead/Carmel are all 1500-5000 students or better and have been around my entire life. Many are so large they have seperate freshman buildings and Voc Techs on the same Campus. Fishers split out of Hamilton Sountheastern as not everyone can live in Carmel so next suburb over is next best thing.

The privates like Brebuef.Marian,Park Tudor, Cathedral, Dwenger have been around since my pops played. Bowman is the sole Charter/newcomer on the list and is a response to the Gary Area schools that are in sorry shape.

Pike/Cathedral/New Castle/HSE/Carmel/Penn/Ben Davis/Brebuef/Jeff/Southport and most of the schools on that list have easily recognizable names and alums ranging from Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Jeff Teague, Court Lee, Alan Henderson, Steve Alford, Kent Benson..... I could go on but suffice to say I am puzzled by the what you are asking or asserting. All of those on that list are as recognizable to folk in Indiana as Dunbar, Trotwood, East Tech, Upper Arlington, Northland, Lima Sr, Massilon, Canton McKinley are in Ohio. To be clear,,,,there are no Bethel Tates , Bethel HS, Dixies, Franklin Monroes or Tri villages on that list

Not sure where he was going with that either. I've heard of every school on that list and been in almost half of them including Crown Point. When Indiana had the one classification system, March was like one big holiday and news story as the entire state followed the tournament. Of course that is an overstatement but the average Joe on the street in Indiana is much more in tune with high school basketball than the Toledo Joe in Ohio.

I take offense to the Toledo Joe comment. I actually follow the state ball pretty seriously considering I'm from Toledo. I travel to Flyin to the Hoop every year and my car is always loaded up for basketball in the state, especially come March.

The schools in Indiana are just as iconic as the ones in Ohio. The history that pours out of Indiana, everyone has a good idea of where to go find talent when you need something. Similar to Ohio, there are certain areas I would argue produce better ball players than the rest of the state. The small schools in both states pending on corner are pretty darn good too.

I thought the deal with Wadley was that he chose on his own to leave the team then crawled back and Saul was awesome enough to let him stay to graduate. Now he can move on. I hate to be blunt but the guy did not want to be here so why would we waste a scholly? Good luck Wadley..thanks for some solid dunks and a few blocks but enjoy Florida A&M.

I like our 3 freshmen and also read from Arkley that Tone is petitioning. If Tone were to stay then Wad..KK and Khari would need to leave to keep the 3 freshmen. If Tone leaves a grad transfer would rule.

Curious if anyone knows Wadley's status? Is he leaving? Is he staying if Tony doesn't get a miracle 5th year? Will he be any healthier than he was before?
My personal wish is that, if he is at least as healthy as he was two years ago, we could use his rebounding, rim protection and if needed, fouls for a big. The year prior he averaged about 9 minutes and 3 boards and .... for blocks. (If memory serves, he was second on the team in blocks, just don't have the numbers handy)

Per Jason Arkley Ohio MBK: Khari Harley to take graduate transfer at the end of the semester
Congrats to Khari for taking advantage of the opportunity and graduating on time. That's a huge accomplishment considering how much time they have to devote to basketball. Unfortunately for various reasons his basketball opportunity didn't turn out like he would have hoped but hopefully he finds a good fit for next year.

I can remember when Coach Stewart tried to tell a group of us that Harley was an NBA Prospect. All I remember is thinking he was full of it. Sure as heck, that one didn't pan out at all. Maybe that's why I question Jim Christian's staff when it came to talent evaluation.
