Do my eyes deceive me or are the Bobbies playing a little bully ball?!

Searls throwing his body around. Love to see it.

Speechless… So good… So bad! Jekyll and Hyde is the right way to describe this team.
I get Clayton. But seriously, run the clock down. You don’t need to take a shot there.

The worst.

What has happened to Hadaway? Total non-entity this year.
He finally read the message board!

That’ll teach you to clear the bench. Good lord.

Had to put the starters back in.

Finishing on a 5-16 run in the final 3 mins.

Well, a 2-0 conference start on the road is the best possible outcome. No complaints here.

A little baffling that Evans did not get any time at all until the last two minutes of the second half after his first half play.

Boals clearly wanting Reef to find his mojo, but he was brutal offensively and too many turnovers. Elliott clearly odd man out and don’t see that changing.

Not gonna let the last two minutes ruin anything. We are 2-0 with a great chance to get to 3-0 on Saturday.

Only 19 minutes for AJB. In my mind he should be on the floor as much as Clayton and Hadaway, and not trailing Sheldon and James in minutes. Even when shots are not falling, he has the best shot selection of anyone on the team.

You must see a different AJB than I do. Unless he is open from Athens to Columbus his shots have little chance of falling. He clearly is an unselfish teammate (his behind the back pass back to Searls tonight as an example) but when AJB drives anywhere inside of 20 feet he looks lost and either finds someone to pass to or throws up an off balance shot that rarely falls.

Agreed, and was wondering myself why he wasn't on the floor in the 2nd half, only to realize he had 4 fouls. Picked up #3 with 10:52 in 2nd, and his 4th with 9:07 left.

I think the fouls and emptying the bench at the end (though he stayed in for a couple of those possessions) took a handful of minutes away from him tonight. Otherwise he's probably in that 25-26 range he's been in most of the year.

My man comes in for 5 mins a game, has highlight reel dunks and goes back to the bench.

Hadaway having a career night, Searls playing an extremely efficient 16 minutes, and AJC getting hot kept him on the bench, but we gotta start figuring out some playing time. Reef is a cornerstone, but he's not playing effectively at the moment. Sheldon is playing pretty tough on D, but offense isn't there. We should try to work in a BIG line-up with Hadaway at the 3 and Evans at the 4.

My theory is defensively he's not there yet to take away time from the others. One way to learn is by playing though so I'd also like to see him get more run. One thing for sure is next year we need him to be ready.

Think of his daily practice match up...Clayton dragging him all the way out to the 3 point line which limits his chances for weakside blocks and rebounding, then Vic on the block. Vic has the size/strength advantage and works the up and under and baby hook moves that are tough for a lightweight and inexperienced big to handle. He should be learning a lot from that experience and another year to get stronger will help as well.

This seems more an apt description of Elmore than AJB. Elmore seems more committed to shooting no matter what. AJB to my naked eye has more sense of when the shot is not there and to bring it out to someone else.

Agree with this, I was actually thinking the same last night as it relates to Elmore. Much more often than not, he's going to try and muscle his way to the basket over kicking it out or dumping it off.

I don't think this is Elmore's fault, and it seems to be the case across the board (with the exception of Pavs).

Our offense is pretty stagnant. It seems like a ton of possessions involve one action, and then basically no secondary movement There were several possessions where AJB/Elmore got into the lane, ran into the help defender, and turned and looked for a pass only to find 4 out and no movement. Those possessions resulted in a bunch of 8-10 foot fall away jump shots.

Pavs is a really, really good passer and seems to make something of those possessions more often than others, but nobody slashes/rolls to the rim on penetration and the ballhandler ends up on an island.

He must be wide open a lot, as he's shooting almost 41% from three.

23 point lead with 5 to go and 17 point lead with just over a minute to go and still can't cover the 10 point line. Hope no one hear bet that, would be an awfully frustrating gambling loss.

Sheldon played as many minutes as JP. I am all for that approach. As I've stated many times I just really like Sheldon all around. I don't dislike JP but his outside shot needs to show up at some point.

Agree AJB only 19 minutes feels wrong. Coach balancing the minutes of James/Brown/Mitchell is a tough task, even moreso if you give Elliott minutes and if you want some runs with both JP & Sheldon on the court. I think right now you plan for 25 each with 2 on 1 off at most times, and adjust for the hot hand and matchups within game.

I'll never tire of watching Reef & Sheldon pickpocket the ball. Had some great ones last night.

Hadaway had the touch around the rim down, 6 for 7 from 2. Clayton 6 for 10...10 shots from 2 for Clayton is exciting! Vic 5 for 8 and Ayden 2 for 2...our forwards are the best in the MAC.

I love that SBH called out Hadaway for terrible play DURING the game in which he goes for 17 & 16. LOL.

Buffalo does indeed suck. Just glad to move on and hope to stay the course and hope we are 4-0 heading into Akron.

It's such a small play, but the E3 announcers were absolutely correct in noting that the game changed with Sheldon's poke-away and throwing the ball off the defender and out of bounds towards the middle of the first half.

Before he scored his first point. Immediately after he bricked his first 3 point attempt.

You're welcome.

Last time I checked, a dunk is 2pts. Lots more to the game than making dunks. And on this team, I think defense is more of a focus.

The offense can be stagnant for sure. However, Elmore only trails AJB and Hadaway by 6 and 10 shot attempts on the year; while starting two less games. He also has less assists on the year than every other starter besides AJB (by 1) and both Reef/Sheldon for that matter.

He averages 7.3 FGA. Going of that, he'd be third on the team in FGA's if he were to have started each game this season -- with the lowest shooting %.

It's an offensive scheme issue, but I do think Elmore is more prone to shoot rather than not.

The rate stats don't tell a story that's that stark. Per 100 possessions -- which normalizes minutes -- he's 5th in FGA amongst rotation players. Behind Clayton, Searls, Brown and Pavs. And the difference between him (15.6 FGA per 100) and Hadaway (15.4), Evans (15.3), and Reef (14.9) are minimal. Hardly a black hole. His overall usage rate is only ahead of Sheldon.
