I think the original conspiracy was when someone convinced people that a hot dog is food.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on what it is then, if you don't believe it is food. Now if your argument is it isn't an appetizing/healthy/whatever type of food fine...but I'm not sure why shaped meat trimmings are anything other than food...
It's mostly a joke. I've had my share of hot dogs and while I do try to eat healthy most of the time and limit my meat/meatbyproducts intake, I'm far from a food snob.

Man, I love BA thread drift. Sitting here lovingly recalling moving to Chicago at age 17 and discovering Vienna Beef/Chicago Hot Dogs...Supedawg, Flukey's, Hastee Tastee, Byron's, Gene and Jude's and all the classics(Portillos didn't even make our Top 10 4 decades ago ) then Brats in Kenosha, Manitowoc, Milwaukee and Sheboygan across the border in WI. I never was much on the dogs as I was on the accoutrements but a good Chicago Polish or Brat is a slice of heaven. All the fixins NO KETCHUP! and the fries...oh the fries....just perfect
