Coppin State was the worst college team I have ever seen play in person.

Which begs the point...why was Jaaron allowed to dribble out the shot clock for 25 seconds last year so much? I know he was very good off the bounce but Block and Laster are showing what can happen with ball movement. Just feel like Saul sold out for a 5-8 guy who stiffed us for Michigan anyways.
Careful...some guys on this board get sensitive when you bring up Jaaron and dribbling out the clock in the same sentence. FYI...10 minutes left in game and no playing time for Simmons today in Big 10 opener against....INDIANA. That's right...horrible INDIANA. UPDATE: 0 minutes vs one of the worst teams in the Big Ten. Will this guy even last the season in Ann Arbor? At least he got a trip to Hawaii out of his brilliant decision. #Kirk>Simmons #BleedGreen

Yep...Belein has officially trimmed his PG rotation down from 3-to-2.

God are you immature. For the record it was YOU who posted multiple times about him dribbling out the clock? Do you deny that? How many times did you post it? Five? More?

And Indiana is HORRIBLE? I doubt you watched the Duke game ... went down to the last few minutes before Duke had a decent lead.

And it's clear based on the FACT you obsess about Simmons that you carry a lot of anger or a grudge. Most people I know follow the current Bobcat squad and don't get joy in seeing an ex-player not getting minutes elsewhere.

Guess there are many immature people on here because I’m reading many posts that agree with me on this topic...just check out the Simmons thread. Heck, we even brought Bobcat Love out of retirement and that’s a big win for everyone. #BleedGreen

I don't disagree with your thought but I think it may be a little early to call IU dead in the water. Not sure they won't be better than Iowa, Nebby, Penn St, tO$U, UI, Rutgers....

Won't matter much though as barring injury he may become nothing more than a practice dummy

#10, don't know the name, had a decent shot. He also got T'd up - I think he was frustrated and didn't appreciate the second or third time that Kirk flexed his muscles after a rebound or put-back. He let Kirk know so in some fashion that the ref felt required a T.
Karonn Davis and he sort of looked the part but he can't shoot a lick. His shooting percentage this year is 30.8 and he's shooting 23.5 from 3.
And I'd say he's probably the best player on their team too. Mr. Dixon has his hands full this year.

Wow. Some of their other losses aren't startlingly bad either (Oregon also by 16). They aren't good, but I think they just had an especially awful night in Athens.

No worse than the old Cardinal Varsity Club tourneys at Ball State

Nov 30, 1990 Campbell Big South W 85 55 Irving Gymnasium
Sat, Dec 1, 1990 Louisiana-Monroe W 75 60 Irving Gymnasium

Fri, Dec 1, 1989 Hardin-Simmons A-Sun W 98 70 Irving Gymnasium
Sat, Dec 2, 1989 Coppin State MEAC W 71 66 Irving Gymnasium

Fri, Dec 2, 1988 U.S. International W 85 66 Irving Gymnasium
Sat, Dec 3, 1988 Florida A&M ME W 76 52 Irving Gymnasium

Always laughed at Majerus and Hunsaker as they stacked those fields with such powerhouses as the Mississippi Valley State Devil Dogs.....

The old Marshall Memorial Tournament used to have very good and competitive fields. I remember one year in the early 1970s when one of the participating teams was Mississippi State. One of their players was the son of Jay Berwanger, the first Heisman trophy recipient from the University of Chicago. [Jay was my father's lifetime sports icon.]

I will try to find and post more details on this tournament.

OK. I just found some details on the Marshal Memorial Invitational. Here are just a few examples of the quality teams that they were able to get to that tournament in Huntington, which Marshall won more often than not. Some of the teams that played in the tournament from 1970 to '74: 1970, Iowa State, Mississippi, Marshall won tourney; 1971, Mississippi State, #8 St. John, Marshall won tourney; 1972, Baylor, Princeton, Marshall won tourney; 1973, Northwestern, George Washington, Marshall won tournament; and 1974, LIU, Oral Roberts, Marshall won tourney. In each of the above cases I do not have the name of the fourth team that played in the tournament as I only have the names of the teams that Marshall actually faced, and in each of these cases beat.
