Have to think that's by design, right? Coaches know we don't have the bigs to fight for boards right now and we're painfully thin and/or inexperienced. I would think they're telling the guys to be a little less aggressive on the offensive glass.
I think that's a Saul thing. Our national ranking in offensive rebounding in the Saul era is as follows: 319, 307, 287, & 338. I think we are basically saying, we are going to try to get the best shot possible and if we miss we want to prevent run-outs and we'll get them in the half court.
Good analysis, Van.

Any update on our bigs? Gareri is questionable for Iona? Any chance Carter is back for Maryland? Vander Plas mid-December?
I'm not putting any stock of BVP being back by mid-December. I think borna mentioned he had just gotten off the little cart recently. I'm hoping by conference play if anything at all. I really hope we don't end up redshirting him because I don't think we can afford to, but I guess it's better than losing more than half the year.
I guess I'm not sure where the timelines for the injured players comes from? I hadn't really heard anything concrete.
Based on recent events in transfers, I hope he doesn't end up redshirted, but if he can't get back to practice by mid-January, I'd understand why he'd want to.
Right now, getting 2 of the 3 back into practice and able to play 10-15 min/game would be a big boost for the team - in my opinion anyway.
