This is a sad state of affairs. Saul had a first year of dysfunction then a surprise 2nd year. I felt like last year was a letdown after we played great all year. This year we showed fight and promise in Charleston and against WKU. Now we are disjointed and appear to have given up. I can see Butler and/or Kirk leaving out of frustration.
Except for Laster, this whole team is regressing. Dartis and Block are shadows of their former selves... Taylor is hit and miss... Mickle and Kirk are struggling. Gollon is a turnover machine.

That's what's most depressing. Yep, Carter's situation wss unfortunate, and Jaaron's departure was dumb. But the guys still playing are all Saul's guys, and it looks like he has lost them. Even the hustle is gone.

Bobcats look like the stiff team that the Harlem Globetrotters would always bring with them to beat. Can anyone step up, just for pride's sake????

May be the worst home loss ever to a MAC team?

Guess we'll get a chance to do even worse when Buffalo rolls into town.

Doesn't look good now, but with the injuries the Bobcats have it isn't as terrible as it seems. Hope is coming for next season, if Carter and others get healthy. In basketball a team only needs to get hot for three games in March unlike football, so don't give up hope yet.

Except you need a top 4 seed or you play 4 games and we won’t be in the top 4.

Are you delusional? Did you see the magnitude of the beat-down? Get hot in March!? With this cast? 5 guys from Ping couldn’t have been more embarrassing than this effort(lack of) tonite!

that's a nice thought, but we just don't have the firepower for that type of run.

Anyway, I'll post an update around 3 this afternoon.
Many thanks for not posting the 3pm update. I got out of work late and it would have taken a relatively high speed trip to make the game on time. Still not sure what the roads were like, but not as upset that I didn't chance it.

edit
PS this isn't the end of the world... It'll get better. I'm glad we're not peaking in January.

Anyone know the worst home MAC loss we’ve ever had? Lost by 34 tonight.

Notice the football players left after the 1st half. Payback for all the fans who leave Peden after the band plays?

Where’s our AD? Haven’t seen him forever. Hopefully not a health issue unless he’s trying to keep his mental health by not showing up.

First time I ever visited the urinals right after a game and had my choice.

Please God let us turn this around and fast, those of us who were around for the Billy Hahn Era don't want to see a repeat of those days which started with so much promise but ended in so much discord.

This is the little things that I think we should talk about in relation to Saul Ball. It's not a coincidence that our attendance and interest in the program has diminished the last 4 years. I thought Saul would get the fans pumped but he just doesn't seem to be able to get intense. Even Christian showed more emotion, and I can't stand that dude.

Gosh, guys and gals, RELAX. We just happened to get nipped at the end of the game.
It’s not like there is a problem or any thing!

I was quite pissed at my wife for not allowing my son and I to head to the game as planned due to the level 2 in Athens county. I was 100% certain the highway would be fine.

But in the end, I've never been happier to have her over-protective attitude around.

College Basketball Reference only has searchable game data back to 2010. Here are Ohio's home losses during that time.

Not really the best data to go off of, as Saul has been coach for the longest in that bracket of years. But some of those results...

First, Doug had a great game defensively and offensively. Let that not go unnoticed. This team is getting tougher to watch because we are so inconsistent. Our opponents know that we love 3’s and they are taking it away. The inconsistency from our starting lineup must improve if we are going to compete moving forward. OU putting up 25 points in the first half is not going to cut it against any MAC team. Toledo was able to sub the bench in without loosing ground. We haven’t been successful at this. Last night minutes distributed but I think the game was long gone. I saw McDonald subbed in at 1 minute mark and I wonder what he can do if in longer. Dozier also subbed in at 3-4 Minutes making his limited appearance. Long haul from here on out.

Really starts at about the 14:00 mark with Arkley's question.

I did like Doug's play tonight, and also his comments here (Gollon & Taylor Post Game) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kWvPsaRpDc

It's disappointing that modern technology has made it impossible to physically burn all the tapes of this game.
