pretty impressive flush by Butler on the break
Kirk came into the program with swagger. You can see Butler's swagger emerging. He was injured to start the season so I am sure that didn't help his development, the same as Gareri's. I do think though that four years of Kirk and Butler will be outstanding. I compared them to a possible Robotham/Jackson combo for Akron where they played from frosh on (until Dambrot left). Kirk is already better than both of those guys and Butler has potential. I just hope that in the next class (2019) we get two more guards with Dartis leaving and a logjam of stretch 4's and posts remaining.

Although we didn't win, I was really happy see the hustle and urgency in the second half. The first go round they 100% gave up, they fought until the end in this one.

P.S. i swore that Kirk was roughly a 35% free throw shooter, but sports reference tells me he's at 71% on the year. Maybe I'm only paying attention to the misses.

No no, Kirk is decent from the line. You must be thinking of one of

Doug Taylor - 52%
Gavin Block - 58%

I honestly think Butler needs to have more minutes. He's a good pg and I think he might be something special in these next couple of seasons

I got in trouble awhile back for saying Block was not a 77% FT shooter. Better watch out

To my knowledge Kirk wasn't hurt to start the season. Butler was.

I continue to be concerned about the lack of fan interest in our program right now...it's dwindling. This board used to be hopping with comments following games. Now, barely anything.
Gee, it really makes you wonder if there is some sort of constant repetitive conversation-crushing annoyance that is keeping people away.

Call me crazy, but staring at two possible 18-20 loss seasons over a four year stretch might have something to do with it. Or maybe it's the awful "everything is fine while the program crumbles" comments that turn people off? #13Months

Are we supposed to discuss the many wonderful benefits of being in dead last place in the MAC?

This line of thinking is a total canard. People aren't coming here because it's not fun to bask in the glow of three MAC wins.

They say that there is a silver lining to everything. Let us try to find one: being last in the conference takes pressure off of me to buy the latest Bobcat merchandise in College Bookstore, thus saving me tons of money.

I no longer have to get involved in ridiculous conversations with my friends about who is the best in the conference and who will end up getting into the NCAA tournament, because my team really doesn't appear to have a chance.

I can now catch up on other things such as the reading of books, making it to the gym on a more regular basis, and listening to more music.

I can now accept the old man that I am instead of regressing developmentally into some emotional adolescent who is actually invested in the Bobcats winning.

I can now contemplate and be proud of why I really went to school, which was to gain an excellent education, which I received.

And, finally, I can continue to laugh my rear end off at my Ohio State friends, who always appear to be close to ending their lives whenever the Buckeyes lose.

No, it is the predictable constant directing of every conversation to the exact same crap, just like Monroe did on the football board. I'm less likely to say "Butler needs to drive and dish more" because I don't want to hear about how Butler is proof we don't have good coaches and our depth is terrible and John Groce was the messiah and blah blah blah. Just go thru the last several game threads, they all end up exactly the same, squashed out by the same predictable narrative from the same predictable posters.

I don't know, I've been away for a while but came back to rubber neck this rush hour crash of a season.

Oh and because I heard there was a real reality show/polarizing political vibe that was occurring and wanted to see the devolution for myself.

(And cause I'm tired of Twitter)

I didn’t see comparable complaints when things really were sunshine and rainbows around here. As recently as when JC was dominating the regular season, there was constant chatter about the pending dynasty, dreams of big-time conferences and becoming the “next Gonzaga.” None of that was about game action, yet no one was policing the board to complain about the subject matter.

The team is in last place in a mediocre conference. The biggest budget in the MAC has produced three wins. The rest of the conference is passing this program by. Don’t be so surprised that people have the temerity to express themselves about it.

I can't wait to read the posts when our out-of-conference schedule comes out for next season. The baker's dozen of frosted cupcakes we're going to be playing will definitely be empty calories as far as enjoyable viewing is concerned, but we're going to get a lot of Nov-Dec wins.
