Bryant would look good on Ohio's schedule right now for a home and home.

Been saying it for several weeks now.....I'm riding Buffalo to Sweet 16. Great coach who knows how to recruit and athletes all over the place. Would not surprise me if they go undefeated in league play.

No question about their dominance in the MAC right now. They're possibly good enough to earn an at large if they don't win out in Cleveland.

Question I have about them, long term, is when Oates leaves now many high profile recruits do they retain? Obviously TBD.

One I didn't list that was a hell of a game was Oklahoma at Okie State. I envision Trae Young as a blend of DJ Cooper and Curry. He's good, but forces a lot of shots.

Has to jump to power 5 after this year. A program like UGA has to get rid of Fox if he doesn't make tourney this year. 9 years of nothing out of that guy in the other Athens. Could be a fit for a guy like Oates.

They would fit right there with several of the schools we’ve been playing. Oh, wait, didn’t we PAY Bryant to come to town last year?

We did. The reason was to try to have him here for the Alumni weekend with some of his former players.

Nice wins last night for TCU, and VT. At TCU, Jamie Dixon has done a heck of a revitalization. Part of it is someone Ohio recruited: Desmond Bane.

Bane has been doing well there. TCU has been fun to watch this year. Staff had eyes on him early and he has exceeded all expectations. Interesting example of a small school kid going to a Big D1 program and not having to take time getting accustomed to the big stage.

Dixon has done a fantastic job @ TCU. PITT fans never really appreciated/realized what they had with Dixon.

And conversely Vandy knew exactly what they had. Strange carousel this past year. Holtmann leaves late and shows his coaching chops, younger Drew ends up at Vandy while his bro is still struggling at Baylor. See many guys who were heads as top assts, Rick Barnes is finally hitting his stride in year 3 after Shaka took over at Tx. There is a whole lotta shake up going on.

Makes me wonder where my kid will end up in this whole cluster we call coaching.

Friday 1/26:
Besides Ohio, I see two games of interest:

8pm FS1- Wisconsin at Michigan State
9pm ESPNU - Oakland at NKU - the first edition of this up in Michigan was a heck of a game, with the Norse escaping with W. They're starting to draw nice crowds, and I'd imagine they will with this one.

Saturday:

Fewer top end games that last weekend in my opinion, but some games we'll be watching include:

Dambrot's Duquesne at URI at noon on NBCSN
UVA at Duke - 2pm on CBS
UC at Memphis - 6pm on CBSSN
Kentucky at West Virginia - EPN at 7pm

Interesting Mid-major games:
Marshall at WKU 7pm - not sure of TV on this one. Anyone have any idea?
St. Joes vs U Penn at the Palestra. I'd love to find TV or stream for this one.
Iona at Manhattan - big MAAC rivalry at 7pm

VT at ND at 8pm on ESPN2
Colorado at ASU - ESPNU -- important game for Bobby's boys in conference.

Late night: there are a couple West coast games, but nothing big this Saturday.

Sunday:
A limited schedule, but there are some games of some interest here:

Purdue at Indiana @ 330pm
Interestingly, in the Horizon, Oakland and NKU play again on Sunday. Oakland at Wright State, Detroit at NKU. Both games on ESPN3.
Also, Michigan State plays Friday/Sunday, travelling to Maryland at 1pm on CBS.

I wish I'd have been able to see thatone. My cousin's man cave, while brilliant as a hangout, with a basement bar, and three TV's, doesn't get CBSSN. The EMU vs Miami game was a pretty entertaining one for most of the game, as was the NIU at WMU game.

Most of our focus was on UVA and Duke, then UK at West Virginia. Right now, Virginia is outstanding. I saw a stat that said Tony Bennett's team has won 8 and 9 more games in the ACC since 2014-15 than UNC and Duke. Crazy, and impressive.

Zach and I went to an NIT game vs Iowa ar Charlottesville after exploring Monticello a couple years back. It has been a treat to watch his culture of Pack Line Defense and Offensive philosophy as it has transformed the program. Pack line is what Groce and Holtmann introduced in 09 but Bennett has it down and teaches it well. I was able to watch the BSU Kron game in Southeast Columbus where they had a Time Warner package that streams most games on a 60 inch set. I don't fully understand the package he has but he watches most TV over the net.

URI won on a buzzer beating 3 at the end. Heck of a game. The Dukes are certainly on the rise.

I love watching UVA play. We're heading to P'Burgh to watch them, and Dambrot's Dukes in the same day. I've never been to a game in Charlottesville, but I'd love to. Wife and I "snuck" in to John Paul Jones Arena when were there a few years back. Phenomenal basketball building!

While I am mildly impressed Dambrot has them at 14-8 ... a closer look will show he has done it against one of the worst schedules in college basketball.

They've played a schedule that is 307 out of 351.

To put into perspective ... Ohio played 129th schedule that was packed with SWAC/MEACtion games.

Dukes have loaded up on wins vs. VMI, Stetson, UMES, St. Francis NY, Delaware St. NC A&T, Miss Valley St, and Lamar.

They have beaten exactly one team with a winning record ... and that is 11-9 NC A&T who is 6-1 in the MEAC.

They are 5-4 in the A-10 .... and while that normally is a heckuva accomplishment midway thru the season in that league .... this year's A-10 might be the worst it's been in a decade.

Only four other teams have a winning record in the league outside of Duquesne ... there are 9 with losing records. Needless to say, the A-10 is a one-bid league this year unless St. Bonnie goes on a helluva run to end the year ..... or URI doesn't win league tourney.

PS ... Ohio has a better RPI than Dukes. Yikes.
