I think it's gotta be tough if our Top 6 guys return because playing time is going to be sparse so you're not going to get someone who wants to be "the man." We need someone happy with 15 minutes per game, 6 points and 6 rebounds (or assists also).
Just because we're returning Reef, Sheldon, James, Brown, Hadaway and Clayton doesn't preclude someone new getting starters minutes IMO.
We could bring in a starting PG still, moving Reed to his more natural SG position.
We could bring in a starting C moving Clayton to his more natural stretch 4 spot.
For that matter I'd bring in a starting wing. James can score but his defense is atrocious and he's severely undersized. Yet to be seen if his driving ability and athleticism will return post-injury (we hope). If not, he's not a good shooter either. With AJ Brown, he showed flashes of being a scorer as a freshman but was mostly a 3pt shooter. I'd like to see a much more well rounded game from him, and the ability to actually stay healthy for a full season before saying his spot couldn't be upgraded.
Just saying, for the right guy, we CAN provide minutes. It's not like we have the full roster from a Sweet 16 team returning.
