How about a non-con Convo tourney with OU, UA, Stony Brook and CoC? Fran Fraschilla can all the games & Allie LaForce on color?

I know this much, having Groce out of the league reopens the door for the top. Who takes it? Who knows, but it is ripe for the picking.

Ford deserves a HC job at this point if he wants it. A wild outlier could be a Bobby Hurley return to the MAC.

My shortlist at Akron has to include Bobby Hurley. Makes too much sense and a guy who knows the MAC pretty well. Plus given seeing how the John Groce rehab experience worked, I think Hurley has a few years to play with.

Their fans haven't looked outside of the box at all for this. The only names being mentioned are Ford and Dru Joyce III over at Duquesne. I would hate to see Hurley back at a contender in the MAC, but agree that would be a great job for him. Though, he's more of a NE guy, so if UMass ever moves on from Frank Martin...

Come on now ... Ford/Joyce to UA, Hurley to OU in 2027. And then he gets UCONN to visit the Convo in like '29 or '30.

I imagine you get a couple bucks tossed your way from Groce as his unofficial PR guy.

There is only one coach in this statement who didn't recruit "The Whiz".

I'll go with the guy who didn't recruit "The Whiz" every time.

Also Mack was handed the keys to a Rolls Royce at COC from Kelsey and did nothing with it.

This will be a fun thread to look back on three years from now comparing Groce's success at COC to Mack's success at South Florida.

Chris Mack's tenure as Louisville men’s basketball coach (2018–2022) ended due to a combination of underperformance, NCAA investigations, and a damaging extortion scandal involving former assistant Dino Gaudio. Mack was suspended for the start of the 2021-22 season for not following university procedures, and he and the school mutually parted ways in January 2022 after a 63-36 record
