Memphis hosted 6-foot-9 power forward Cornelius Williams yesterday.
(From North Alabama of the ASun)

Doesn't look too promising for us. He probably wants too much $$$.

I don’t think the starting wing is on the roster. Might be Siebe (6’6) if he’s brought in.

Personally, I can live KDA and Mitchell starting. Especially with Javan and Dusan (who rates as a strong rebounder) in the paint with potentially Siebe at the wing.

We once started three 6’1 guards just two seasons ago and four guards overall; with a 5 that hung around the 3PT line. We’ll be fine.
In fairness, the year we started three 6'1 guards we were one of the 10 worst teams in the country defending the 3. That we did it, doesn't mean it worked.

We needed more playmakers, so I'm okay with the haul so far. But we need some wing size/athleticism. I haven't looked closely and don't know if Siebe provides the athleticism, but that feels like the biggest need for me. Though, I'm assuming Mosley sees time as a 3rd big.
Oh, for sure. That was in no way a “just because we have, means we should” thought. More of a we’ve had far worse for a starting 5 when it comes to lack of size.

Agreed, we need another wing. Siebe seems shifty based on the clip below. I forgot about Mosley, how confident are we all in him coming off the redshirt to provide meaningful minutes?

Can he pass? He looks like a Larry Bird type of player in the way he handles himself going to the hoop!

Where did all those Power Five schools go who were lining up for Evans two years ago?

The same place as your sense of class. Evans didn't work out here, but he seems like a good kid and there's no reason to criticize him on the way out the door.

On the ladies' side, the only portal entrant, ReRe Jennings, has taken her name back out of the portal.

Former Bobcat Jaya McClure, who transferred last year to UIC after missing the previous season in Athens to injury, has again transferred to...Fiami.

Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent, and Miami all got hit pretty hard in the portal. But Miami has put together a nice class themselves.

OUr ladies are the only MAC team without a player in the portal, although Eastern Michigan's one entrant played in one scoreless game last season (and even stranger, entered with a Do Not Contact tag), and Northern Illinois and UMass aren't losing anyone noteworthy.

The Belgian dude is now in the fold, according to a most reliable source. Not sure when it'll be announced.

I’m guessing it’ll be straight from the Ohio basketball page, similar to Dusan.

That gives us 2 schollies left. A rotational big and another wing would be ideal imo. I could also see another ball handler to spell KDA/Kolton.

I know it’s a mixed bag, but two of the more intriguing D2 players we expressed interest in early on remain available - Trey Harris (West Virginia State) and Jaquay Randolph (Southern Wesleyan). 6’7 and 6’10, can hit the 3, would bring some additional athleticism off the bench. Would think they’d be budget friendly bench additions but this could also be why they’re both unsigned. Might be aiming higher financially and for more guaranteed playing time.

I’m assuming our starting 5 looks something like Kolton, KDA, Siebe, Dusan, and Simmons.

Unsure if this was posted, but it was reported a few weeks back we’ve expressed interest in UTRGV’s Marshall Destremau. Australian native, 6’9 and played 13mpg and 7mpg over the last two years. Not exactly eye popping numbers; but would be cheap size.

Per 40 numbers are solid (14.2 ppg /10.7 rpg) and he's got shooting touch (36% from three and 72% from the line). Could do worse in a backup big.

Bird? Cool. We could use 30 points and 13 rebounds per game.

I like the guard duo of D'Augustino and Mitchell and the 4-5 duo of Simmons and Busan. Brogan would be a very good guard off the bench. I think Kuany takes another step forward this year. I also think Xavier McKinney is going to get PT as a freshman. I like his game better than JJ Kelly's. He is a much better ballhandler and is cool under pressure. Bowens is a project but a solid athlete and Walking Bucket could be the key to the season. Mosley is a wildcard as well.

I thought he looked very good in spurts and has potential. [Maybe not NBA potential, as per Saul]

I'm really interested to see Mosley, too. Similar in size to Javan Simmons, with a physical-looking frame. I'm not expecting him to get heavy minutes but, as we've seen in the recent past that was lacking, just being a serviceable body off the bench can be a real positive for the team.

If Walking Bucket isn't selling shirts on campus with Walking Bucket across the front then he is doing this NIL thing all wrong.

Tamiel Green deciding on May 8th.

https://x.com/green_tamiel/status/2049978106895614276?s=4...

Among our offer - LA Tech, Norfolk, Mercer, NC Central, SC State, Alabama A&M, St. Joes.

Can’t really tell if this guy an uncovered gem or just 7 foot. Clearly the biggest guy on the court. At times in the clip below he’s bringing the ball up the court and actually has good ball control. He’s had some big games against top JUCO teams, would think there’d be more interest.

Olivier Rioux to UC Irvine. Must not be a lot of optimism his height will translate.

Would be cool to see him get some playing time. Even just for the sheer craziness of it and really see what a guy of that size and girth can do, but I'm guessing his stamina isn't there and likely will never be quite there to play consistent, high-level basketball.

I forget which game he actually got a few minutes in, but he was getting shoved around by a guy who was barely 6'8". He got some rebounds and a nice put back, but he was getting moved around like someone who weighs 315 shouldn't be.

Haven't seen any new rumors on us or new names staff has followed since Kolton's commitment until today with Mo Diao. Casey Crawford started following him.

6'10 out of McCook Community College (JUCO). Averaged 11ppg, 7rpg, and nearly 3bpg in 14mpg.

Looks like he just took a visit to Idaho and holds offers from KC and Green Bay.

We’ve recently expressed interest in Northwest Missouri State’s (D2, where Ben McCollum coached) Matthew Mayes. 6’6 wing. Averaged 13ppg, 5rpg, and shot 53% and 40% from 3 before an injury. Matt is repped by former OU staffer Mike Cifliku. Could be a nice bench piece.

We just had the chance to see what a guy that big can do. Zach Edey. Same wingspan and weight as Rioux. Two-time national player of the year.

One of those guys was the least celebrated dominant player ever, described by haters as "just tall." The other guy was simply just tall.

Aaron Bradshaw 7-1/220 (Kentucky/Ohio State/Memphis) to Tennessee State.

Not Tennessee...TSU (a mid-major in the OVC)

Yes the former 5 star guy ranked the #1 center in h.s. and #5 player overall.

Averaged 9 and 4 last season.
