Where he should have been to start with.

I hear though there is no Court Street in Lorman, MS.

Hope his agent can negotiate $76.12 per year in NIL money and $5 coupons to McDonalds.

9 wins in the SWAC. Maybe he can get some PT.

Man, if there's a more sobering place to play D1 basketball, I'd like to see it. Lorman makes Morehead, KY look like South Beach. The closest gas station is 20 minutes away from campus.

I think they were 9-23 overall but played like 8 big conference teams OOC.

That's 8 more than a bunch of mid-majors played combined. You know which ones.

Nonetheless, let's wish him well. He's done nothing to deserve our disrespect.

Ryan Sabol to Providence. Pretty cool to see the Buffalo/Hodgson connection come full circle.

Sean Jones to Toledo
This could very well come back to bite me, but I’m thrilled that we lost the Sean Jones sweepstakes. There was apparently a significant bidding war among multiple MAC teams for his services with $ much higher than the numbers reported on this board that KDA got. There has to be something in the game tape that I don’t see, because there are 3 seasons worth of data at Marquette to indicate he isn’t worth what he’s going to be getting paid. I just don't see the value in an undersized guard who is a defensive liability, never shot better than 31% from 3, below average finisher at the rim, consistently had a turnover rate around 20%, and consistently had the worst Orating on their team. It appears as though we were in on those sweepstakes and strongly believe we dodged a bullet.

Could he be a solid rotation guard for a MAC team? Probably, my stance is that he is not worth what the bidding war netted out at. Going from a Blyden/Wilson guard duo to that is a huge downgrade. Side note, really excited to watch Blyden wherever he ends up next year. Watched a lot of random Toledo games last year and that kid is a stud.

For sure thought Mahaffey would follow Groce. Quick search, there’s a lot of players who have transferred out of CoC, but it doesn’t appear anyone has transferred in. A little surprising.

I've not looked, but how has Groce and Ford split up their staff? All one way or the other or some in both places? I have to think splitting up like this makes recruiting tough for both sides as new coaches are worked in.

Akron's incoming portal group not exactly lighting the world on fire either. Of course it's not done yet either so who knows. The guard from Incarnate Word seems solid, but was on a bad Southland Conference team (similar thing could be said about our incoming transfer G). The big from WMU who was terrible last year attempted 0 3's and shot under 50% from the floor. Averaged 6 & 5 in 24 minutes a game. An OK piece I'm sure but I would say a clear step back from the bigs of recent Akron success.

It looks like Ford assembled his own staff of outsiders. Brought in Jay Shunnar as Associate HC from North Texas, spent time at Cleveland State (3 years), Michigan, Butler, and with Cavs. That probably helped land Staveskie from Incarnate Word who overlapped with Shunnar at Cleveland State where he averaged 13ppg.

Ford also plucked Concord University Head Coach Todd May. Former OU student manager under Hunter. May compiled 137-115 record.

Todd May was also the Head Coach at Jackson High School the few years after Ford coached there and was an assistant to Ford there in the early 2000's.

Agreed. Not sure why the petty post about him. He did nothing to tarnish OHIO, he just wasn't able to play up to our expectations. Good luck, Ayden.

Evans seems like a nice kid, hope he hits the weight room and does a diet similar to what Nate Ament did to put on 20 pounds of lean muscle.

Freitag from Buffalo has heard from Washington and Penn St. and others.

No word on what's going on with Oboh since he entered the portal.
