So I will hold on to hope someone has been flooding his inbox with Dennis Rodman videos.
Send Burris some Larry Bird highlights too.

He will turn into Bird. It could happen. Anything is possible, right?

Boals is almost John Wooden. He's only missing the ten national championships, but anything is possible. He might actually be the next John Wooden.

Rodman?

Are you the one that compared the Springs kid to Kevin Durant?
Greencat confirmed.

This is also confirmed. Our delusional part of the fan base still exists.

Evans (1 rebound per game as a sub on a mediocre MAC team) =
Dennis Rodman (14 year NBA veteran, 911 games, averaged 13 boards/gm)

Springs who didn't even start at D-2 Winston-Salem State = Durant

The list of that stuff is long. Along with crappola on here over the years like "we don't want transfers from the SEC...they're not good enough for the MAC" (yeah, the SEC must really suck in basketball since they only got TEN teams in the NCAA tournament.) Which upstaged the "we don't need good athletes on the basketball team, athletes are for track teams."

And people did back-flips and somersaults over the Breath signing and we know how that turned out... he started a total of one game. Where does this huge gigantic overestimation of talent emanate from? Is it the "well, he may be a scrub but he's OUR scrub now so that makes him a super-talented phenom" syndrome? It's that kind of crap that is going to end this program up near the bottom of the MAC before long. And people will continue to cling to the status quo all the way to the bottom while insisting that (name of player here) has super-duper potential and just hasn't reached it yet.

Sir...

I don't think he's Dennis Rodman. LOL. Good Lord. I don't think he'll ever be Dennis Rodman. I'm surprised it needs explaining, BUT...

I was simply saying that hopefully he's studying Dennis Rodman, in jest, because literally all I want to see him do is rebound. That's it. Like Rodman. Just rebound. Do nothing else. At no point did I compare him to Dennis Rodman. LOL. Just grab rebounds. Your only offense is tipping the ball back in the circle 2-3 times a game. No jump shots. No 3 pointers. Just rebound. Hands up. Like Rodman.

Our scrubs can have "NBA potential." I learned this from a former coach.

Not to forget a year ago, the "we don't wants Austin Parks, we're too good for him to be on our team!"

(Scored 13 on us in only 18 minutes once last season and had a double-double in the other)

Yeah, we're "too good" for the guy who shot 62% this season.

This is a longstanding tradition on this board. Shame posters by picking apart their comments and try to say they claimed something about us or one of our players is big time. It only grows with time and people make references to "people on this board" trying to claim blah blah blah. Strawman stuff. Drives me crazy. BTC the worst offender. It was obvious you weren't saying Ayden Evans is Dennis Rodman.

Dude, breaking news, NONE of the drivel on BA is going to have ANY impact on where the program is going to end up in the MAC standings. Comical.

One down...more to come hopefully.

Elliott was one I pegged hitting the portal when the season ended on the 2026-2027 roster thread. If he goes to Stetson like I predicted, then I need to play the lottery.

Greencat is actually the worst offender, but BTC is close. Greencat has been talking about the same handful of things for years now, and will never actually address the person that said them. It's passive aggressive in the most pathetic way.

And now that he's doing it with a new username and lasted all of 30 posts before it became clear who it was, I think he will hold the crown forever.

I'm fine with this. His finishing/scoring challenges make it such that he's not able to be a lead ballhandler until he improves on those things, and if he's not a lead ballhandler I'm not sure what he is.

I think Elliot will end up being a solid college basketball player by the end of his career. Athleticism is off the charts and has great size for a PG. Outside shooting might limit him, but I think he can still facilitate an offense at the D1 level. Someone will tap into this.

I don't look at him as a recruiting miss. Injuries playing a role this last season and being forced into the starting lineup originally alongside Pavs and Sheldon. Which never really made sense.

I also wonder how much the staff worked with him in the offseason on his outside shot.

I wonder how much we paid him to fall out of the rotation and have some of the worst advanced stats on the team?

Did you make this same comment earlier in the year, but without naming names? I remember someone saying a key player's family was demanding money. Someone responded essentially "Good to know we have key players - hopefully that shows up on the court." Seems like a Ruck thing to say.

Nothing against Elliott, but wash your hands clean of those types if that noise is still coming through. In 13 games played, .298 from the field, .227 from three, .618 at the line. Less than a steal per game out of who was supposed to be a defensive stopper.

How many teams are in the middle of the Venn diagram that would have more personal investment in the player than we would, could pay more than we could, and would offer a kid with those stats coming off an injury year?

Not good enough to be throwin around all that weight.

Like I said somewhere buried in here... maybe he'd be happier averaging 7 points for a 7 win team.

As long as Fisher, Kelly, Kuany, and Simmons return, I won't lose sleep.
Burris and Mosley for growth and bench continuity. Bring on a whole mess of transfers.

It seems that this is not the first time we've had some major trouble with a player's father. Didn't we have a bad case of this back in the pre-NIL days with a father who was telling the coach that his son should have greater control of the offense?

Do you think Boals told him the "Reynoldsburg 3" were going to be the scout team?

Seriously, if he wants to keep his high paying gig, he might want to start recruiting over some guys. Evans and Burris. You need a practice squad and the two annual games vs the blind school community college, they can get to play a few minutes.

For the talent overestimation committee...
Michael Jordan plus Derek Fisher = Jordan Fisher, right?
