I dunno, that's a lot of tall guys. Sure, two of them haven't played any minutes, and one plays 8 minutes a game. But they're really, really, really tall.

*Hire a coach between the age of 32-35

*At this age, you are getting a coach who is used to NIL/Portal pretty much out of the gate in his career and not getting someone who is 10 years older and used to recruiting pre-NIL/Portal era.

*I don't care about prior head coaching experience.

*Get somebody who isn't going to spout in interviews constantly that we can't afford a "big" because we can't pay a 6'9 guy $100,000.

Here is where I am with Boals. He's done. If not this year, then definitely after the 2026-2027 season. And when I say done, I just get the vibe that he doesn't want to be a head coach anymore in this new world of college basketball. He's had five years to adapt and evolve with change and it's not working for him. Something has been off all year with Boals and his energy. And I'm not saying this is a factor with Boals motivation, but now he can't even coach 'Lil Boalsy every day in practice for the next two years moving forward. I'm sure he was looking forward to coaching his son in practice for four years even though 'Lil Boalsy was never going to play in a game.

The program is a shitcapade right now. No discipline. No fire. No energy.

It's as stale as it can be.

Time for a change.

I don't want to play this game.

But I will anyway.

Siddle has never lived nor coached outside of North Carolina, aside from the one year he spent in Southern Virginia at Hargrave. 38 of his 39 years on earth my boy has never been north of Raleigh. We might as well be Athens, Greece.

High Point won 29 games last season. 27 games the year before. Fist year head coach handed the keys to a Ferrari and hasn't wrecked it in his 8 months on the job.

They don't pay me to make these decisions, but I'm gonna need a little more than 8 months with an ncaa tournament team from the previous year that says you can take on a MAC rebuild.

I'm not ready to fully lean into the firing of Boals. IMO there's still a lot to like. The area I need to see improvement in is record against Kent/Akron/Toledo/Miami. Improvement against those teams and the results will speak for themselves.

Siddle is poised for a bigger leap. He'll be on P5 radars this year, especially if he wins the Colonial Tournament again. We'd be a step down at this point for him.

Just cast a wide net. I still like Jamie Quarles or finding the next Josh Schertz or Ben McCollum from the D2 level. Both of those guys won an absurd amount of games and have proven to be successful at the D1 level with systems.

I actually have a real longshot. Memphis Grizz assistant Brian Collins. Age 40.

When Memphis inevitably fires their coaching staff at the end of this season, he should be totally available.

The juco team he coached went 54-11, was an assistant at several mids including Illinois State, took over a beleaguered program at Tennessee State and had four winning seasons in 6 years. That might not sound impressive but really is. Visualize a map of Nashville. On the nice "midtown" side of downtown, you have Vandy/Belmont/Lipscomb in the trendy/upscale area. On the other side of downtown you have TSU close to some projects that are so dangerous they are nicknamed Dodge City because of all the shootings. And he played for the legend Rick Byrd (805 wins) in college.

Classy after a win or loss...

Time to think outside the box a hire a minority basketball coach? Maybe.

And BTW, the TSU website says Collins had a 100% graduation rate.

No mystery "Bahamas" situations apparently.

If you watch that video...a man who knows how to conduct himself as a professional.

Want a new coach? Scour startup companies and find the guy who brought in the most capital investments over the last 3-5 years. Hire him at the lowest $ amount possible. His job is to raise $ and sit on the bench during games.

As for the rest of the budget. Put it toward a scouting/analytics department to find free agents. Hire a GM to manage the budget and award free agent contracts. Use everything else to pay players and hope.

If we're gonna try and play like the Yankees in here then were going to lose to the Yankees out there.

I'm about to the point where I fear falling any farther behind that group of teams. We're clearly already behind them. How much deeper in the hole should we go before the situation gets even worse?

While "Moneyball" was a great sports movie, we are already using the moneyball approach and it ain't working. Ben Nichol, Zay Mosely, Carter Reese??

The Yankees in this case would be Duke and Kentucky and UConn. That is not who we are competing with. Our competition is fiami, Akron, Toledo... and we can't even beat Ball State or Bethune-Cookman or ODU.

How about a coach fired up to do something besides get technical fouls and lose? One that still has the "mojo working" to quote the blues musicians.

Zay Mosely? Are you adding him to the Reynoldsburg trio? I would love to hear thoughts onh how Mosely has looked in practice.

And Carter Reese, who I don't believe is on scholarship, was brought in to be a practice body.

Just as a desperate Saul apologist on here once compared Nate Springs to 4-time NBA scoring champ Kevin Durant, I will go ahead and fill the role of Boals apologist and compare Mosely to 7-time NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell.

He is favorably comparable to Mitchell.

What an immature answer. I asked about Mosely because I am admittedly ignorant to what kind of player he is. And, because of that, I asked if anyone has seen him in practice and can add any insight. Not sure in what universe that makes me a Boals' apologist.

To brighten the morning, here are some Donovan Mitchell highlights so we all know what it is we all have to look forward to next season.

😀 😎🔥💯👍

We can only hope our "next Donovan Mitchell" doesn't turn pro after one season or transfer to Duke or Kentucky or UNC.

I mean... I guess.

We're FOURTH.

Sure, I agree that being FOURTH isn't my ideal standing, but there are 10 teams that would absolutely love to be the 4th best team - while we're screaming about this being the worst team ever assembled and the program is the worst its ever been and we need to fire everyone. We're FOURTH.

With three seniors starting and possibly losing whoever in the portal and very little bench strength and not much of a recruiting class coming in?

Who remembers the disastrous 5 win season? That included a 50 point loss to Ball State, a 40 point loss to NIU, etc. What could happen by keeping the status quo.

Clearly the first and only answer is round two of Tim O'Shea with Jim Christian as Associate Head Coach.

Your obsession with how bad Nate Springs was almost equals your obsession with name dropping random coaches and players from the great state of Tennessee. We get it, he sucked.

Last time I looked Gardner-Webb and Wilmington are in North Carolina.

Just like d-2 Winston-Salem State where "the next Kevin Durant" finished playing.

If there is a rule against mentioning a coach or player in North Carolina, let me know.

Thanks in advance.
