Great news here with Logan getting drafted round 21 by the Colorado Rockies.

Incredible turnaround. If you would've told me this time last year that Cozart would've been drafted at all, let alone in the 21st round, I would've said you're nuts. Congrats to Logan!

Unfortunately as a senior he won't get much of a payday, but he'll get a chance to prove himself. Looking forward to following him.

Rockies transactions list he was signed on 6/17, terms not disclosed. No surprise as college seniors almost always sign. He was immediately sent to Boise (short season A ball...NOT the lowest level which would be rookie level (typically made up of high school draftees and young international players making their stateside debut...but occasionally college players start there).

He got in the game last night for his first ever professional appearance, pitching the 9th (of a loss), allowing no hits, walking 1 with 0 strikeouts and a wild pitch.

Congrats to you and your family, Mama Cozart.

Logan has been very impressive at AA Hartford. 4-1 with a 2.16 ERA in 17 relief appearances. What really stands out is a sparkling 0.920 WHIP!

It happens to the best of 'em. Logan got roughed up for 5 runs on Thursday night. A nice bounceback on Friday though, as he pitched a scoreless inning. ERA now at 2.75.

Cozart's ERA is at 2.59 and his WHIP is 0.99. He's allowed runs in only 6 out of 36 appearances, many of which are more than 1 inning. Nine of the 14 earned runs he's given up came in two bad outings. He's given up just 3 earned runs in his last 13 2/3 innings (1.97 ERA).

I noticed Cozart's name pop up in a new article about a fight at the end of the game due to a bunt single breaking up a no hitter in the 9th. Logan pitched a perfect 8th in the would be no-hitter.

He looks great this year - 1.93 ERA with 28 K and 9 BB. Finished last year really strong too, a 2.23 ERA. WHIP of 1.02 both years is outstanding. Kind of surprised he hasn't been moved to AAA after the full year of AA in 2018. We could see him with the Rockies this season.

I'm not too surprised he didn't start in AAA this year but am a little shocked he hasn't been moved up at this point. His development has been unbelievable. Came in to Athens as a ss/3b and didn't even think about pitching until Smith came aboard.

The NL West is still wide open so that might delay his call up a bit. If/when the Rockies are out of the race I would expect him to get the call.

What do you mean by wide open? The Dodgers are up 11 games, the biggest lead in any division.

Yeah I think he meant the NL Wildcard, but if he keeps pitching this well and they find themselves needing a bullpen arm all of a sudden, they are more likely to go to a young guy with some upside and mystique than the up and down guy at AAA.

When I posted it was only an 8 game gap, guess not WIDE open but 8 games before all star break is far from out of the question.

His ERA is exactly as it was in the last update: 1.93. But his WHIP has gone up to 1.25, giving up 3 hits in each of his last two outings. He has 30 strikeouts and 10 walks in 28 innings.

He was just called up to AAA Albuquerque and pitched 2 scoreless innings with 1 strikeout in his first outing.

one more step! It's mindboggling to me how little presence Ohio has in MLB. Hopefully he'll get there and start a trend!
