Not  a fan, especially of the slant O, that looks like it's the first O in our arch OHIO.  Other issue is that is not a registered mark of OHIO University Athletics, so when we want to talk about brands and such, we go out and do this.

Agreed. The slanted "O" has to go. We need the classic "O" as a standard hat, and the attack car can be used on the alternate cap. I'm fine with the other two.

Funny how people can have different opinions.  Of the three, I like the "O" best.

Dont like them. The attack cat hats look like something you can buy at the college book store, not game hats. The slanted O is the best of the 3.

Was the squared off O that they used before this year a registered mark?

Either way, I always hated that stupid O that only baseball used, so I'm glad they're aligning with the rest of the teams by and large.

Two of those hats are directly against the departments own guidelines for marks and logos. It bothers me we seem to be going backwards on our branding.

I really like all three of these hats. At first glance the slanted O really took me back. But it really makes good sense when you consider our use of the arch OHIO. As I think about it, I actually like the slanted O a lot better than the skinny O as it has a purpose, instead of just trying to be different than Ohio State (I believe we too used to have that block O, not sure what the story on that is though).

Can't wait to go out and get me that green one with just the Attack Cat if they make it available.

Besides being a personal preference about the slanted or block "O," the biggest issue here is the hat is two-toned (predominantly black at that). Most baseball clubs have their standard hat a something involving lettering. They are never too busy. The logo hats should be away and alternative options. Therefore, our most basic hat isn't even really the school's colors.

If the first hat is now considered the "main" hat, well, the Astros are the only MLB team I can think of that uses their logo for their main hat these days. Baseball has always been about keeping the main go-to hat basic with one or two letters. So either we are shying away from that, which I don't like, or we are going with a black hat and a green bill as the main hat, which I also don't care for.

I can live with the slanted "O" if it was otherwise a basic, standard hat in green. I'm still a firm believe in the block-O though, regardless of how much people might think it is too similar to Ohio State. We are, after all, OHIO.

You can please some of the people all the time.  All of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time.  Seems like some people just got to find something to find fault with.  Not happy otherwise.  Me, I can't wait to get one.

Some just like a little tradition, and is it just me or may we just change our school colors to black?

I'm not really that excited about these hats.

First, I don't really like the black at all.  Our school colors are Green & White.  On special occasions our teams wear black, but not every game.

Second, I don't mind the attack cat or really the slated O that much, but the attack cat with the Ohio is a little much.  Typically baseball hats are pretty basic.  Usually (at least in the MLB), teams use a letter or two (or 3 in the case with St Louis), and rarely are logos/mascots used on the hats.

Would have liked to have seen a white hat with a green O and green bill, and just switch the white to grey or green (like the old hats) for road games, and put a small attack cat on the rear of the hat.

I also love the old paw print, but I guess we can't use that anymore or have gotten away from it.

Also, I know with licensing and contracts it is probably impossible to do, but if I had the option I would switch back to the New Era hats rather than the Game hats.

I would like to see what the arch OHIO in its entirety looks like. I understand Donuts' point, but it might work.

The slanted O is not for me.  How did that get approved by our "branding" police?    I too would like to see what the 'arch" Ohio would look like.  Anything but the slanted O !  I thought my sight was going bad when I first looked at it.  Thought maybe the seamstress was drunk when she sewed it on!

Look I'm more conservative than the next guy, a no re-play, if there needs to be an asterisk there doesn't need to be a discussion kind of guy. But has anyone considered the possibility that MLB teams don't put the full name on the hat because their city isn't four letters?

Each hat is worse than the other IMO. This staff is throwing any semblance of tradition in the garbage, and that's a real shame.

If their goal is to alienate alumni, they're doing a great job. And, no, I'm not just talking about the hats. A lot of bridges have been burned in a few very short months.

Just want until the season starts. If you think there's angst about Jim Christian, you ain't seen nothing yet. With completely unproven pitching, we could be in for one loooooong season. Andrew See will start looking pretty good come March 1!

He had a long line of pitching recruits coming in with experience to contribute right away?

If that ends up being the case, it will be because of the recruiting of the previous staff.
