After a year sitting out due his transfer from Iowa St., Phil Bates jumps right into the starting quarterback competition at Ohio. Following a record-setting high school quarterback career, the junior saw limited action at wide receiver for the Cyclones in 2007 and at quarterback in 2008. Bates now plays for the man who was his dad's position coach at Nebraska, Frank Solich. The Omaha native talked about the upcoming season with BobcatAttack at the team's annual Media Day.
