FRISCO, Texas – John Hauser made a case to be named the permanent head coach, and many of his players afterward agreed as Ohio topped UNLV 17-10 to win its seventh straight bowl game Tuesday night in the Frisco Bowl at the Ford Center.

First-year head coach Brian Smith was placed on leave Dec. 1 with Hauser appointed interim head coach. Smith was fired a week ago, and Hauser is expected to be one of the primary candidates to replace Smith.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Ohio overcame three turnovers and held off Buffalo 31-26 to wrap up its regular season Friday afternoon at UB Stadium.

Parker Navarro rushed for 121 yards and Sieh Bangura 120 yards as the Bobcats racked up 359 of their 506 yards of offense on the ground and kept their faint chances at the Mid-American Conference championship game alive.

ATHENS – On a cold, rainy night, Ohio turned to its running game to take a 42-14 victory against winless UMass in its final home game of the season Tuesday at Peden Stadium.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A week after earning share of first place in the Mid-American Conference, Ohio lost it with a 17-13 loss to Western Michigan on Tuesday night at Waldo Stadium.

ATHENS – Ohio bounced back big after two weeks off following its first Mid-American Conference loss and dominated Northern Illinois 48-21 in its homecoming game Saturday at Peden Stadium.

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ohio shut out Ball State in the first half, but the Cardinals returned the favor in the second half and rallied for a 20-14 victory Saturday at Scheumann Stadium.
