Ohio won its third straight with a 64-56 triumph over Miami in Oxford Wednesday night. The Cats got it done at both ends of the court shooting 65% for the game while holding Miami to 36%. As has been the case during the streak, seniors Brandon Hunter and Steve Esterkamp came up big for the Bobcats. Hunter recorded his 21st double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Esterkamp scored 16 but 10 of those came after intermission. The pair combined to hit 12 of their 13 second-half free throw attempts. The win keeps Ohio's (12-14 Overall, 8-9 MAC) hopes alive for a first-round MAC tourney home game. The loss drops Miami (13-13, 11-6) into a first-place tie in the MAC East. The RedHawks placed four starters in double figures led by Juby Johnson's 17.
