Ohio needed two overtimes to knock off Western Michigan 79-72 Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
It was the second straight overtime game at the Convo, fourth of the season and fifth overall for the Bobcats (9-13 Overall, 6-8 MAC). Thomas Stephens' tip-in of a missed Jeff Halbert jumper at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime and his jumper in the second OT started Ohio on a 11-2 run to end the game.
Brandon Hunter ended up with 24 points and 12 rebounds, his ninth straight double-double. Stephens and Steve Esterkamp scored 17 apiece. The Broncos' (15-8, 7-7) Anthony Kann and Robby Collum each had 25 points.
Ohio travels to Akron for a game tomorrow night to make up for Monday's postponement.
