Ohio head basketball coach Tim O'Shea announced today that Old Dominion's 6-11, 220-pound sophomore center Clay McGowen will be transferring to Ohio University. McGowen averaged 5.3 points and 5.2 rebounds this past year for ODU. He appeared in all of the team's 29 games and started 12.
McGowen prepped at Westerville North High School where he averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds as a senior. He was ranked by Prep Spotlight as the second best center in the state of Ohio. McGowen will have to sit out a year before being eligible for the 2003-04 season. With his commitment, the Bobcats have used all of the 13 available scholarships.
