There shouldn't be any problems as the maintenance wasn't really on our site, just the underlying storage device at the hosting facility. In fact, the site's servers were still up during the "down time" last week, but they were just so slow it wasn't worth having the site up until things were back near 100%.
I assume the laptop is at home and not at work? What happens when you try to connect at work? Do you get an error? Try connecting directly to the IP address for the site by going here:

I suspect it's something on the work network and not the actual computer. Have you tried any other computers at work?
