Strange PM Behavior

Ryan,
Yesterday I sent a reply to a PM. The person who wrote me had asked a number of questions and made a number of statements that I wished to respond to. I did in the following fashion:
>>
My response.
>>
My response
>>
My response
When the message was sent, all of my responses, save the very last one were deleted and the quoted material was all jumbled up at the top like this: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Any idea what went on here? Any way I could retrieve my response? It looks this same way in my sent folder and in the PM received by the recipient.
Thanks for looking into this for me.
Carl

Interesting: A similar thing happened in this post. The quotes here are deleted but left in place and not jumbled. I'll try again here to duplicate the issue and put regular quote marks around all
">>
My response

My response"

Sorry, I can't demonstrate the problem because it occurs in a modified form right here. I was using the old "CompuServe" quoting method using ">>" around quotes. That's three "" surrounding the quoted material. Obviously something in your algorithm is parsing those out. I have used this method before on the site, and not had this problem.

Again, I can't even write about this here. Angled brackets are either deleted (right ones) or truncated (left ones) and content between deleted.

You know, I've always thought you exhibited strange PMS behavior......oh, wait......never mind.
