Saturday, no. 4 Ball State was defeated by no. 5 Western 3-1 in the Convo to advance to the semi final match against the Bobcats who beat them 3-1 at home earlier in the season.

5:30 Sunday showdown.

Western concerns me. They have a good athletic defense and Gossen is a power hitter. So far, they've looked the best of all the teams through Saturday.

WMU fights back from 2 sets down to win in 5....very impressive. Cats will have to hope to make it in as a very borderline bubble team.

If selections in volleyball are anything like men's basketball then the Mac ain't getting two teams in. Hope I'm wrong.

Western proved to be the team with the grit for the tournament. They were down 2 sets to Fiami and then reeled off three to win. Impressive for a squad that only had four subs available. They earned the championship by winning on four nights and coming back from 2-0 twice.

That win helps our NCAA aspirations. It's better to get beat by the champion than by the team that loses to the champion.
