Friday night 10/23 at WMU. After our fine, MAC-dominating regular season last year, WMU ousted us from the MAC tourney.

That cost us the NCAA bid, right?

And we owe them from football last Saturday.

BIG ROAD MATCH FRIDAY.

GO OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(even that rascal OCF agrees with me on this!0

Big weekend in general....WMU payback game tonight and then NIU tomorrow night who is our closest competition right now for the top of the MAC. Win two this weekend and things look much better for us the rest of the way.

Just looking at results and who they played in the non-conference season, you'd think the ladies can take care of business. But, you never know for sure. A 2-0 weekend would have the ladies set up real nice for the home stretch.

This is the road trip from Hell. It will take all the mental toughness the ladies can muster to come away with two wins...

11 straight wins puts us 9th in the nation.

Western is 6-2 in league play. Our last MAC loss in the tourney semis last year at home, a devastating loss after going up 2-0 which essentially ended our season. As has been said- it's payback time!

Then it's a strong Northern team, 7-1, with 5 straight wins. Can be viewed online at 8 Sat.

It's show-time ladies!

This is kind of like the Ivy League does in basketball. They only play on Friday and Saturday and they either are at home or away for both games and they travel from school to school by bus. Imagine travelling from NYC to Ithica in the dead of winter.

Twelve service errors and only 3 service aces. Got to serve better!

I know nothing but that we won in 4 games....but that's gotta be a solid win.

In listening to it on the net & the coach afterwards, you'd be wrong.

The best teams scuffle a bit in season, but find a way to keep winning. Plus, champions get everyone's best prep and effort. I look forward to seeing how the match goes @NIU - tough back-to-back.

I agree with Joe that we're likely to get everyone's best game.

Ben--more details, please, about why it wasn't so good? I see from Coach's comments on ohiobobcats.com that WMU was down a couple of starters.

When listening to the game online, it seemed as if the girls did fine the first set. The next three were pretty tough, we weren't playing to our highest potential. The 'Cats gave up a five point lead in the second set, WMU just kinda fed off the crowd and their momentum. The Broncos have a really good "come back" mentality (much like they had last year in the tourny).

The fourth set was scary. I don't know how the girls came back from a 17-9 deficit, but kudos to them for staying with it. Last night could've gone several ways.

I'd say service errors were big in keeping us from making any runs, but the girls cut those down later on in the match. When you pile up those service errors, and the attack errors early, the set can get ugly.

Although having only 2 losses and playing strong, few expected Kent to win at Northern last night, but they did 3-1. Was Northern looking ahead? It's breathing room from Northern for us but not Kent whom we still get at home.

Got to feel a strong emotional, positive-sense edge for Kent playing Western tonight and for us at Northern.
