I know the SID office is over worked and understaffed.

Volleyball is the crown jewel of Ohio athletics. Year in and year out it is unquestionably our most successful program.

Please, then, treat it with respect. Please proofread (better still have someone other than the author proofread) your volleyball releases.

Without even trying, I found two factual errors in your Sept 24 "Quest for 10" release.

Jamie Kosiorek is no longer a freshman. Coach Webb cannot be "one victory away from 400" and at the same time hold "an overall record of 402-227..."

I know you'll agree that the volleyball staff and team deserve the same care from your office as men's basketball and football.

Errors happen to us all. But these, coupled with the failure to have all team bios updated until after the season started, indicate that volleyball is not getting adequate attention.

It should!

P.S. Regarding those bios, did you know that Carley Remmers was a prepvolleyball.com Top 100 player? I do. Coach, I believe, has mentioned it in his news conferences. But it is not mentioned in her bio. If men's basketball had a top 100 recruit, we'd shout about it from the roof of the Convo.

Did you also know that Carley's been out all year because of injury? How about getting an update and throwing it in next week's release?

Could not agree more except for the first sentence. Each and everyone of us wakes up with 168 hours in a week. How we choose to spend that time is on us. Obviously volleyball isn't one of the priorities.

I am glad the errors in the Sept 24 release have been corrected. I hope you will follow up on my comments about Carley Remmers...

Thanks.

I agree also but it's everywhere it seems about volleyball getting the big stage attention. Except maybe Penn State and Nebraska.
Not only was Carley a top 100 player she also received player of the year in Nebraska in some sports preps. Pretty good of Ohio to get Nebraska's player of the year. Now only if she could get healthy.

Good thoughts here.

Volley is such a terrific sport. We ought have men's team, too!

And, the women are terrific. I hope we can find some cost-effective promotions that will draw some HUGE crowds, most of whom will find it tasty to return.

Are games admission-free?

If so, have a 'guaranteed victory night' with all attendees getting free admission to the next game if we lose! See--cost effective!

For a while, there was a nice tradition getting started where a volleyball game was played after the Homecoming football game. If I recall, you could get in free or at least discounted with your football ticket.

This was a great way to expose OUr OUtstanding volleyball program to alumni. Sadly, the last few years, the volleyball team has been out of town Homecoming weekend.

As a resident of Kansas, I only make it back to Athens for Homecoming and miss the opportunity to see OUr volleyball team.

On a side note, the hockey team has been out of town the last few Homecoming weekends. It seems they used to also be home for Homecoming. A good Saturday was Bobcat football, volleyball and hockey all in a row.
