If she is receiving a Volleyball Scholarship it must be a full scholarship, as Volleyball is a head count sport. There are no partials or splits in a head count sport.

I know she isn't a defensive player, but defensive players often don't receive a scholarship for all 4 years. Often they may only get 2 years. It is a full scholarship for the year when they are on, but they aren't on every year. It is pretty rare from what I've seen and heard for a defensive player to get 4 years.

That helps explain the difference between the roster size and scholarship limits. Someone could be a walk on as mentioned too.
