There is a little-known NCAA bylaw that requires at least 8 Big 10 teams must make the tourney each year. This year 9 are in.

Carlston and co., having gone 5-7 down the stretch, are hosting at St. Johns. Meanwhile, Ohio is sent to Provo...

Trivia: 4 Ohio schools are in the tourney, good showing for our state.

More trivia: We are the cradle of coaches, as the last 3 Bobcat volleyball coaches--Carlston, Theiss and Webb--are are in the tourney.

Unfortunately, this is an absolutely awful draw. BYU is 50-1 at home since 2011. Should we be able to beat them, Arizona more than likely awaits in the second round, and they are very good as well. Western Kentucky also had a great season and knocked off Wisconsin.

Names on other teams to look out for:

Alexa Gray, BYU-their all-time leader in kills and multiple time All-American
Amy Boswell, BYU-efficient MB and IMO, the best blocker in the nation
Penina Snuuka, ARIZ-super dynamic and athletic setter
Kalei Mau, ARIZ- one of the best players in the PAC-12
Jessica Lucas, WKU-conference setter of the year, distributes a very balanced offense
Noelle Langenkamp, WKU-Cincinnati product who is an extremely efficient MB

Well if we had beaten Dayton maybe we would have gotten Villanova in the first round, but next would have been 7th seed Penn State.

Although, it would have been a nightmare draw for Ohio State if they sent us to Columbus.

What is the elevation of Provo? 4,551 ft (1,387 m)

3-1 BYU. Ladies fought extremely hard, showed they could play with anyone. Done in by wayyyy too many service errors.

Thank you, seniors. You will all be missed. Good luck in your future endeavors...

As for next year's team, gonna be a lot of question marks...maybe the most since the Carlston years...
