This weekend should be telling as the 2 teams we play are considered by Deane to be top 1/3-1/2 MAC level teams.

Both matches Friday: Radford at 11:00, Va. Tech at 8:00 (ESPN3).

In the 1st match, 9-2 Radford takes down Ohio in straight sets. Then Virginia Tech takes out Radford 3-1. But Ohio comes out strong against the Hokies winning the 1st 2 sets. Then, up 24-19 and about to close the deal in set 3, the Cats collapse, lose the set, then lose set 4. But Ohio pulls it together and crushes them in set 5 to win the match. Great match to watch as the Cats look solid, engaged, flying around all over the court.

A big lineup change in the win as Mal Salis moves to libero for the 1st time and enter frosh Lizzie Stephens who notches 15 kills and double digit digs. Jamie Kosiorek with 25 kills.

Nice closure to OOC as Ohio comes home to play their 1st 2 MAC matches.

Nice match against Virginia Tech. The last set was impressive. Hopefully this passion carries over to this weekend, when the MAC season starts. Please give the Matchpoint Ohio crew some good highlight material to work with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw1kf6D7tGs

The schedule was a bit of a blessing this week. Both games on Friday, with the rest of the weekend off. Go Bobcats!

John and Cricket are volunteers; they're not paid for what they do so if they go to the away games it is on their own ticket.

I know, that's why I questioned if they would travel to away games. It would be on their own dime. Blacksburg might be do-able, but Norman, OK might be a stretch.

Cricket and I have gotten pretty lax about MatchPointOhio. Not about the photos and videos: if the team plays at the Convo, or we can get to an away game (we're definitely planning on our first match against Miami, in Oxford), we'll be shooting the action. But we've gradually come to rely on the team's Facebook page to get out the links to both photos and videos. Mike Ashcraft does a great job as Director of Media Relations, and he puts up the links.

Still, it's nice to be asked about our camera work, and this will spur me to start listing the videos again at MatchPointOhio, and also to post more frequently on the blog there.
