Kent is 7-8 this season. One of their strengths is team blocking as they are ranked 33rd in that category, led by Liva Brivule of Latvia. The one mutual opponent was Pitt, a team Kent beat at home 3-1 while OHIO swept them at home.

The MAC should be a tougher conference this year, and as usual, everyone will be gunning for our Lady Cats who are still favorites to win the conference.

Thursday at 7 in the Convo.

You could tell from the first pass and set tonight that this would be a Bobcat win.  The ball came down and the game sped up since the NW match.  Service errors were way down too except for the last set.  Kent hit a sorry .013 and their triple block defense just didn't work.  The Kent coach got so frustrated that he got himself red carded from the match.  The girls looked fresh and were having a great deal of fun.  Good passing and good defense often does that for a team.  The game started on a good note and ended on a Leah Petrovich dump. It will be fun to watch a 6 foot setter next year plus I think she's left handed.   A perfect ending to a pretty well played match.

Let's face it; Kent's coach is a whiner.  In the third set, he sat silent while the set slipped away from his team, only to get riled up when the officials (correctly) reversed a net call.

Nice sportsmanship, Kent.  Geesh.

On the up side, we just had way too much for Kent.  Sue dominated, with solid support from Katie, Mij, Mandy, and Lexie.

On another note, Central lost to Eastern in 5 at Ypsi.  What the heck?

According to Zack Weinberg, Kent's coach asked to be removed from the game.  I guess the red card means very little in volleyball as Zack mentioned that a coach doesn't necessarily have to leave the game after receiving a red, and usually the only penalty is that an extra point is awarded to the opposite team

Central is 6-7, Eastern is 13-3.  Momentum is key in this and all other sports.

I'm sorry -- you are over-simplifying.  EMU's gaudy record is not exactly against top competition -- and two of their three losses are to High Point and Boise State.  Please.

Central was picked to win the West.  The Chips have lost to Northen Iowa, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

In my book, that was an upset.
