Games against Marquette and Kentucky!

"Ohio volleyball opens the 2022 season on Saturday when they head to Lexington, Ky. to take on Marquette (ESPN) and No. 11 Kentucky. The Bobcats open the season on Saturday, Aug. 27 against Marquette. First serve is set for 4 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum. Ohio is back on the court on Sunday, Aug. 28 against 11th-ranked Kentucky. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum and will be aired on the SEC Network." PawPrints

Should be a very good opportunity for us. Appears a few MAC teams beat some P5 teams the last few days (Kent, BGSU) so hopefully we can continue that trend!

Welp, swept by Marquette today. Team plays Kentucky tomorrow. O'Farrell, Clippard, and Olivia Margolies led team in kills with 8, 6 and 4 respectively.

I briefly watched the replay. It looks like there is lots of room for improvement. I think the offense should feature Caitlin O'Farrell, in my unexpert opinion. Let's hope we can be a bit more competive against Kentucky today. This team should do fine in the MAC, but the program has a lot of rebuilding to get back to the top 50 days.

Playing two national powers to open the season will be a learning experience. I was hoping we might manage to win at least one game this weekend. Still a chance against UK. Go OHIO!

other games of note: BG wins at Tennessee and Toledo takes down Arizona State.

Ohio falls in a sweep to #11 Kentucky 20-25, 11-25, 17-25. O'Farrell and Clippard led team in kills with 7 each, with Kharchynska, O Margolies, and Kristy Frank each with 4 kills.
