I thought that overall the Bobcat performance against BG was very good. I just wish that Katie would get more fire in her play. We need a leader and she is the only one being a senior, but she is too laid back. There is no doubt that the freshmen are talented. Lexie is playing well. I would like to see our setters be more consistent. We have improved each game. So the improvement that we have made gives me great hope for another MAC championship.
I appreciated the post game speech by the BG coach. She made it quite apparent that playing in the Convo is very difficult for opponents. Let us all encourage more supporters to be present tonight to kick Miami's fannies.
GO BOBCATS!!
Fair assessment. We went into a little "funk" in the third set when our passing went south and we found ourselves down five and having to claw back -- which obviously we did. We all like to look for that fired-up, emotional leader (we didn't have one last year either), but this team has its own personality. Clearly the experience of many close matches in the pre-conference season paid some dividends -- I saw no panic when it got tight.
BG's coach was very classy and complimantary in her post-match comments. I remember her coaching in the 80's (she named every coach we've had (6) since she started at BG)...all the best to her.
Need a crowd tonight -- I can almost guarantee Miami is a stronger team than BG. They played a tougher pre-conference and should be battle-ready.
LET'S GO CATS!!
