As I read through the news and found this sentence below, I was paused with this phrase, "the right to host the MAC Championship" ?

Do we still have the MAC Tournie in Geneva or it will change to the school that won the regular title ?

The Bobcats would also claim the MAC regular season title for the second-straight season and earn the right to host the MAC Championship during the 2014 season.

I thought read somewhere that starting next year the tournament will be held on the campus of the previous years champion. I can't seem to find that article though.

To quote Lili Von Schtupp, "It's twoo, it's twoo."  We will host the tourney next year.

Gee, who would have thought moving the tournament to Geneva wouldn't pan out? And last year's champion? Why not the #1 seed?

I like this. The venue planning for a 10 team tournament is difficult on the extremely short notice that #1 seed hosts. The Convo hosts two basketball programs and wrestling. Some MAC arenas hold other events as well. A year's notice blocks off the dates for operations.

Lili finally gets her due on this board.

Clearly that's why they're doing it that way, even though having the No. 1 seed host the tourney, as JSF said, makes the most sense from a purely volleyball perspective. But given OHIO's youth and talent, it probably wouldn't make a hell of a lot of difference either way.
