I don't care what others think...I'd take a win over OSU in volleyball over a win vs. Marshall in football any day of the week!
GREAT work ladies!!! congrats.

not one effing bit! Bobcats also took down OSU in field hockey this weekend. Ohio State attempts to field championship/elite teams in every sport. Marshall does not. They and their fans think that they are BY FAR the elite program in every collegiate sport in OH. Any time we can teach them a lesson (and we can show Geoff Carlston that the grass is not always greener)...well...it's tough for me to imagine any sweeter regular season win in any sport that does not involve Miami.
I am not happy that we were demolished by Marshall in football today. But the Big 10 is volleyball royalty, usually sending 5, 6 maybe seven teams to the NCAA tourney and sometimes winning the whole thing. OSU is one of those conference teams that generally makes the NCAA (yes, I know they didn't go last year). It all adds up to the fact that beating the Buckeyes in volleyball is far more significant than a victory over Marshall in football (and the lopsided loss today makes the argument largely academic anyway).

Agree.
Saw that Ohio beat an o$u earlier in the week in field hockey.
2 - 0 against that factory up in Columbus.
(My first, and quite possibly last, post on the volleyball board)

Must be that OSU thing I've talked about. Oh well, I enjoy the win, just don't get the big thrill that some of you do. Now if that were Penn State we just beat, I would get excited.

Ohio State took our coach away and directly competes with us for recruits. This is an important win.

Congratulations to both the Volleyball and Field Hockey teams for their victories over Ohio $tate. The fun I am having with my parents who went to that school is priceless.

Ohio's decade run has been done mainly with out of state players from all over the country. We've mainly passed on Ohio talent because we were doing better elsewhere. This win will speak volumes to the high school volleyball girls in Ohio and I wouldn't be surprised to see more in-state talent of the likes of frosh Jaime Kosiorek down the road.
update: Cats take down Syracuse 3-1 to sweep the tourney. That's 5 straight wins. YES!!

I must say, it is so satisfying to see Carlston visibly frustrated. I wish JSF could have been there.
It was a great match to watch. Very technically sound play from both teams. I thought Karin Bull played the best match I've ever seen from her, offensively and defensively.
Bobcat fans comprised about 70% of the crowd and were very lively throughout.

Agreed!!! I'll take an Ohio win over any Ohio State team in any sport over a football win over Marshall 24/7/365!!
