There’s a thread on Volleytalk looking at all the conferences and teams chances of getting into the Big VB Dance. Here what is said about the MAC, with all the discussion of course on Ohio. Hopefully, of course, Ohio takes care of business and there is no bubble issue. (Credit trojansc, All-American, with the following look at the MAC)

Mid-American
The 8-team conference tournament will be hosted at undefeated in MAC-play Ohio (21-4, 14-0). The Bobcats are the only team to beat Northern Illinois (20-8, 13-1 MAC) Ohio's four losses come to Hawaii, Texas A&M, Northwestern, and Arizona State. The latter two went to five-sets. Again, all bubble teams will be rooting for Ohio to win the MAC tournament. The Bobcats have four remaining matches, their toughest match remaining is a home-match against Miami of Ohio, who is on a 9-game winning streak. Should Ohio finish the MAC undefeated and is upset in the conference tournament championship game, I think the Bobcats still will squeeze in. If they are upset in the quarterfinals or semifinals, I think they are out. Their situation is eerily similar to Western Kentucky.

p.s. one correction- Ohio will have a double bye and will not appear in a quarterfinal match.

I'm of the mind that we will need to win the tournament to get into the Dance. Our RPI is pretty good right now #39, but a loss to a MAC team will send it south in a hurry and probably off the bubble.

Ohio also travels to Dayton for a match on November 28th (the week following the MAC tourney). The Flyers, out of the Atlantic 10, currently boast a record of 26-5. One more chance for the Bobcats to log a quality win on the road.

Dayton's had our number lately, so I would like to see them get a little revenge.
