Heartbreaker to end a 3 match win streak, losing 17-15 in the 5th set. Amazingly Ohio is all the way down in 8th place with their 6-5 record. The bottom 4 teams are all pretty crappy, and Ohio only has 1 match remaining against any of them. 6 matches are against CMU, BG & Buffalo who may be the 3 best teams.
Taking all that together, it seems highly unlikely Ohio can obtain a top 6 spot to make the tourney.
Not so Fast sir! After a 4 game winning streak, the Bobcats not only find themselves in a tie for 5th place, they have a 2 game lead on the 7th spot Toledo.
BUT - They have top dog BG (14-2) for the final 2 matches while Toledo has lowly Kent (1-15). Toledo & Ohio split this season, so I have no idea what the tiebreaker would be should they both end up 10-8.
I was in attendance Saturday, they looked good. Worth noting that their last 3 losses were all 5 set losses while 8 wins in that same span only 1 of which was 5 sets. Hope they can find a way to squeek in because it'd be nice to see what a team with their upward trajectory can do in the tourney.
