Nice three set win yesterday after losing a dog fight on Friday. I was able to watch the match on ESPN and the ladies looked pretty good. The serving was a bit weak, but overall, they looked pretty good. I still don't understand why two thirds of the balls go to the left outside hitter, especially since we have such a talented middle blocker in Caitan O'Farrell who is 6'4 and right side outside hitter Anna Kharchynska who is 6'3?

All four teams in the tournament seem pretty good, UMBC and High Point went to the NCAA's last year, not sure about JMU. Final match of the tournament for us is this morning against a talented High Point squad. At this point each team in the tournament is 1-1.

Bobcats win the game at High Point, a strong 2-1 showing against a solid field.

This past weekend was the Dayton tourney where they also went 2-1, losing 3-2 to Dayton after being up 2-0.

Overall a pretty encouraging 4-2 start heading into our own invitational this weekend. Another crop of solid but not great teams. I am no Volleyball whiz but it seems like this OOC schedule prepares us very well for conference play as most opponents are upper half of the MAC type of teams.

I watched that Dayton game, and it seemed to me that got worn out at the end and/or lacked a killer instinct. They really let that one get away from them.

Dayton took #2 Louisville to 5 sets tonight. Would have been a nice resume win for the Bobcats.
