there aren't any topics in this section so I thought I'd throw one out for fun-

Is there an appetite from our fanbase for reclaiming some of the "OHIO" cheers used by that other school. If for no other reason than to frustrate their fans and shine a spotlight on their ignorance for cheering for their school by using another school's name? I'd love to see a Buckeye fan get all flumoxed because a bunch of fans in green and white are cheering "O-H *clap clap* I-O".

It's not that they're exceptionally good cheers or that we don't have any good ones of our own,  but its the principle of the whole thing.

thoughts?

I'm not privy to the idea.  It has become too much of OSU's calling card type cheer.  My fear is trying it and it becomes lost in OSU starting their's up.  We already have our own cheer of OU OH YEAH.  I say we stick with that.  There are also three shirts out declaring the true OHIO. 1. Front: We are Ohio.  Back: You just live here.  2. Front:  We are Ohio.  Back:  Deal with it.  and I forget the third one.  The thing is, let them have their ignorant fun.  They'll just look really really stupid if they lose because everyone will hear about us again...and notice OHIO University.

Even though I hate being refrenced as Ohio U, I do find throwing the U on at the end of the O - H I - O chants funny.

I'm just fickle like that.

Funny story...my wife and I decided to go to the Rose Parade (her Bucket list thing) this year to se the Marching 110 (not the game).  We had OUr Ohio stuff on.  First time they did the O-H with the I-O coming from the other side of the street we got up and gave them a lOUd U!  They took it in stride and gave us some props for OUr band.

the second time we did they got a bit more peeved!

I wasnt totally wild over the O-H-I-O-U chant when we first did it at OSU two yrs ago. After I saw how riled up they got I fell inlove with it.
I also like the chant that went on after the Georgetown bball game (you can youtube the celebration) basicallu it is a play on the soccer chant "olay olay" but with OU OU in its place. Its fun and gets people going.

It was great at the shoe, to hear O - H - I -O then very loud from one end U.

The other shirt was "We are OHIO, you are State".

I like OU - OH YEAH!

This got a lot of Media play after the game last time and I agree...It played out really well in the stadium...Also agree it's readily apparent that it very much get's under Ohio A&M fan's skin.

To quote the immortal Chris Knight (Real Genius)...It is a "moral imperative" to keep this new tradition alive!  Most especially on 8/18!
