Holy crap what a rush tonight to take over some lead duties. Great blowout dub. I think we were loud for almost the whole game and I thought we started some good chants tonight. WT/LT was amazing only critique I had was we got too fast with it in the end. Onto Eastern Michigan and I am 100% continuing the dirt sheets. So much fun to make them. Students really enjoyed them tonight!

It's getting noticeably better when there's a presence at these middle of the week games against the mediocre teams. Anyone could get up for Toledo, but showing up for a sad sack Ball State is commendable. To feedback.

-If we win the opening tip, bust right into "Let's go Bobcats". We won the tip tonight and the only noise I then heard sounded like it came from the cheerleaders, and it wasn't LGBcats.

-Do the OOOOO following every dunk or three. I swear it's great fun and keeps the momentum going in the building after a big offensive play.

-Was there any organized chant as the lead continued to grow? It's a good opportunity to really stick it to the opposition. "Down by thir-ty!" "Where's the men's team?"

I'll remember the opening tip win "Let's Go Bobcats." We got a "No Ball State" and "Start the busses!" chant going later as the lead continued. We were ready to do a "LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT!" chant if #12 or #23 fouled out. Both had 4 PF's.

If we lose the tip, go right into the "D-Fense" chant. That way, win or lose the tip, everybody can get warmed up with an easy one.

I feel like starting up a chant right off the tip will set the tone for the OZone + players and get the rest of the fans involved as well.

Will take note of that as well!

Referring to men as women because they are losing a game is stupid, and not funny in my opinion. I think you can do better.

Agreed. "Down by thir-TY!" is pretty good though

I think it's fair game. It's not saying women's basketball = losing basketball. It's joking that they're playing so poorly it looks they sent their women's team to play our men's team. Is it sexist to say that if the Ball State women's team (who just beat our women's team) played our men's team, it would be incredibly lopsided?

You wouldn't be wrong to say it would be a massacre.

I simply said it was stupid and not funny in my opinion and that they could do better. Would it be clever and funny to chant "You're a middle school team"?
No. Clever and funny are important, it engages people, gets player and fan attention and brings people back. Stupid and unfunny doesn't. They can do better.

I could have a "MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM!" chant.

If there's something more creative out there, go for it. But I certainly think it's more creative than "down by 30" or "middle school team", which are more literal and lack subtext. And when we're going on a big run, you want to have something to really rub it in.

No more logic or reason. It's 2022, just stop, you can't win.
