Man, I don't know if it was due to classes today or the loss to Toledo but today's section was pretty quiet today. But, I admit it fizzled out once again in the second half. Admit we probably should have been louder towards the end when our guys needed it the most. 4/10 for today.

WT/LT: Ugh, just ugh. Need to find a way to educate chants, asked around if anyone wanted to do scoreboard chant and most looked at me funny.

Someone did lead WT/LT though, right? Thought I saw the motions on the ESPN stream but couldn't hear it because the audio sucks, as always. Did it come from the band or the student section? It should come from a central leader of the student section.

I'd move away from asking if anyone wants to do it. If you want to lead it, when the time is right in the game, make some sort of gesture that signals you're about to start it. We've had plenty of home wins with students on campus that enough people should join right in if you just start it. It'll catch on. Don't forget to yell at the absolute top of your lungs.

Wt/lt is old and dead. It stinks. Just bury it.

Norm and I lead it, the band joined us. I was the guy with the white t shirt standing up. I think bringing back the dirt sheets could help quite a bit. I hate that there are audio issues on ESPN+ too, sounds like they have a potato for a microphone.

I respect your opinion, but I think it's far from dead. It's special to me because I know it may have originated here on campus and I think it should be our trademark winning chant. Just my opinion though.

On a more encouraging note though, I recruited a few kids I thought were into the game and trying to contribute to chants. Waiting to hear back from a few of them today on the potential of spreading around dirt sheets for Ball State.

WT/LT is good in that it punctuates a win and sticks it to the opponent one last time, something "I believe" doesn't do.

Unfortunately, sub par team performance for multiple years, failure to pass down tradition, and a year with no spectators have all contributed to students not knowing what it is and that we do it. The more awareness and buy-in for it, the better it gets.

Agreed. I have included it in the dirt sheet template I'm making and I still think it's a pretty savage chant when everyone knows it, watching many of the older O-Zone videos. But now is the perfect time to reboot the O-Zone with how awesome and competitive the team is now. Toledo game was amazing in student involvement even though we came up short.

As a fan up in the first rows of the upper level, I agree with your last thought there. Y'all were loud & involved. Keep up the good work.

Thanks OU_Country! Hope to keep it up against Ball State and the rest of the year.
