That's good. I don't want to sound like I'm denigrating your efforts, but what it comes down to is what you and anyone else that really wants to make this work decide to do once you're at the game. I've watched each of our three games on the ESPN app, and what I see is a well-attended student crowd that still just sits. However, whenever something really cool happens like a dunk or and-1, a lot of that crowd rises out of their seat and reacts accordingly, before sitting back down.
That tells me that a lot of people down there are engaged and excited about the game. I truly believe a single alpha personality could work that crowd in pregame to have some semblance of an organized student section ("Hey guys, how about we stand and get rowdy starting tonight?").
Don't sit. Don't sit. Don't sit. And while you're not sitting, don't be silent. Next lamest thing after a student section that sits is a student section that stands with their hands in their pockets.
WT/LT should not come from the band.
I agree with all of this. During my discussions with Jacob he also brought up that the last iteration of the O-Zone was a bit toxic in regards to this and I'm totally for not forcing kids to stand. I'm still in the process of getting contacts of kids who were also interested in chanting and hopefully we can get an informal group together for the St. Francis game.
Apparently Jacob does not understand the value of home court toxins - WTF?
Does Jacob have any clue how to get this now non-existent prior best 6th man in the MAC revived??? The only excitement I have seen is when the "old guy" is in the house leading the "O Zone" seating section energy (and bit from the 110 when they are there)..And too often chants that do come up only come up right as a Bobcat is going to the FT line...WTF?
