It's officially dead and buried. The question is now: Can it be replaced by something else, something better?

I'm just surprised there are student leaders to begin with this year. Watching the games online, I don't see anyone even standing, much less organized cheering.

If they had just 10 kids show up and dedicate themselves to being loud, engaged, and organized, it won't be long before the more casual student joins in.

They have a group of 5-7 show up consistently.

Same problem that we had when I was running it in the last year, and there was a dedicated group of 10-15. No one wants to join in. Why join in when you can chill in the 200s level, splay out over six seats, and have a barcalounger?

Best fans in the MAC ? No longer true. Rest in peace O Zone. For decades, basketball games at the Convo had packed student sections - loud, excited, prepared, sometimes with hilarious rants. But that’s over, replaced by the ‘No Zone’. And those with paid seats no longer come either. When they report attendance at 5000 or so, fewer than a thousand show up. True, it’s a harder sell these days with all the options, but some colleges haven’t lost a beat and it’s wild as ever. Amazing, the athletic department allowing this to happen. Apparently they need new blood.
