Congratulations to Ohio Bobcat Field Hockey on winning the MAC Championship.  On Tuesday Ohio U. will face Lafayette College, winner of the Patriot League championship, in the play-in game for the opportunity to go on to the field of 16.

Reports are that Head Coach Neil Macmillan has no idea who or what Lafayette is (not that it really makes a difference).  I'm wondering if anyone here knows or has ever hear of Lafayette or the Patriot League.

Good luck to all.  We look forward to a great match.

My guess is most on here know the Patriot League and Lafayette.  Mainly because of tough basketball teams like Bucknell.  Also, those of us from the east coast drive right by Easton/Lafayette on 78 on our way back from Ohio.

Ohio U. and Lafayette had two common opponents this season.  Ohio beat American 2-1 in OT; Lafayette lost to American 3-1.  Ohio beat Temple 2-0; Lafayette beat Temple 4-2.  The box scores show fairly solid domination by both schools over Temple, but Ohio was fairly convincing over American, while Lafayette struggled (as usual) against American.  American is Lafayette's principal adversary and nemesis in Patriot League field hockey.

Ohio obviously has had a terrific season.  Will there be any chance of a video feed for Tuesday's match?

Not only do I know of the Patriot league and Lafayette College, my day opened with a co-worker coming down to talk smack. Said co-worker is a Lafayette alum and (alleged) former mens soccer star there, one N. Leigh.

I understand that it was quite a good game.  Congratulations to the Bobcats.  Good luck the rest of the way in the tournament.
