This is purely hypothetical of course, but I'd say that UMass would have a lot more added value in women's athletics than in men's. The Minutemen have a very strong program in softball and soccer, where the men would obviously add a lot for basketball. One interesting fact to me is that the school doesn't have a volleyball team. I've always thought that was a Title IX standard because it's cheap to run and gets a fair amount of local fans.
